My first favorite quote:

"I can imagine no more rewarding career. And any man who may be asked in this century what he did to make his life worthwhile, I think can respond with a good deal of pride and satisfaction: 'I served in the United States Navy.'"

from old movies:

ARE THERE ANY MORE AT HOME LIKE YOU?

THE WATER TASTED SO GOOD, SHE JUMPED DOWN THE WELL.

IF YOU WERE ANY MORE DECKED OUT, THEY WOULD BUILD
A THEME PARK AROUND YOU.

YOU SAY THAT LIKE IT WAS SPELLED IN CAPITAL LETTERS.

I'M MAD ABOUT YOU.

GO PEDDLE YOUR PAPERS.

WHAT A SAP I AM.

THIS JOINT'S ALL WASHED UP.

Barry, it came to me after 26 years as a "pole jockey/telephone repairman". Most of my co-workers never wanted to discuss anything other than work, sex or sports. If I wanted to discuss anything else, they looked at me like I was from Mars.

Huskey, I think your "Honey, I won't buy any more cigars" is at least the most commonly HEARD quote in the various households of the participants here, whether it is their FAVORITE quote or not ... LOL

I'm willing to bet that if a question were posed, asking who's not ever used that line, it'd have the fewest responses of any thread in board history, if everyone were honest ... in fact, I think I'll give it a try right now ... LOL ... we shall see what we shall see ...

Hey Eleltea, "no good deed goes unpunished." is one of my favorites, too. It's Oscar Wilde. Here's a couple more by Woody Allen on death:

"I don't want to become immortal through my work. I want to become immortal by not dying."

"I don't mind dying, I just don't want to be there when it happens."
