What do you guys think of:
Bohemian Red North Beach, La Gloria Cubana series #6,
La Vieja from Drew Esate,
Those are my favorite inexpensive smokes...all very different.

Personally (and it's only my personal opinion) I don't like any of them except for the LGC Series R line (YUM!!)...Very robust flavorful smokes!

LGCs, particularly the Serie R are good cigars, IMO ... I've tried 3 sizes in the La Vieja's and 2 of them I doubt I'd buy again ... Bohemian is an interesting LOOKING smoke, but not a very interesting SMOKING smoke ... too many I like better to consider buying those again ...

BUT, taste is a very subjective thing ... unless you know how my taste and yours compare, you shouldn't go by what I think for good or for bad ... see my response on the "bad cigar" thread ... my advise remains the same ... try a LOT of different cigars, remember what you like and what you don't, smoke what you like and the opinions of others be damned ...

thanks Steve and Rookie...just wondering if my newbie tastes were legitimate or not. I realize that taste is highly subjective, but I don't want to smoke crap either! HAHA.

If you like LGC Serie R (one of my favorites) then try Partagas Blacks!

What you're gonna notice about your tastes is that they'll change ... sort of the same way that babies start out with bland foods, them move up the food flavor chain, you're likely to do the same thing ... stuff that might overpower you now won't do so after you've developed (fried?) your taste buds ... conversely, some of what you find satisfying now, won't be on your future lists ...

I've recently seen comments from guys who said they wrote down their likes and dislikes in a sort of diary and another guy who made notes on the insides of the bands and kept 'em ... whatever you need to do in order to remember whether a smoke is in your "like" or "dislike" collumn, do it ... otherwise, there's gonna be some of each you'll forget and either miss out on or make the same mistake on down the road ...

Hmm. My favorite cigars right now are the LGC Serie R maduro, Oliva 'O' maduro, and Onyx Reserve, and I only started smoking cigars regularly about two months ago. What does that mean I'll be craving in the coming years? Is there anything stronger? :)
