Say you are brought before a firing squad to be executed. The officer in charge inquires if you have a final request and you ask for a cigar. The request is granted and you are shown several cigars to choose from. Your choices are:

El Rey Del Mundo Robusto Larga
Gurkha Robusto
Indian Tabac Cameroon Legend Gorilla
Padron #5000
Perdomo Cabinet Series Reserve #4
Puros Indios Toro Especial

Sorry, no Habanos-- there's an emargo in effect. Which of the above cigars would you choose?

If I can pick only one of those and no other, I'm going with the Perdomo Cabinet Series ... damn fine cigar and one that is among my favorites ...

My turn to do the survey: ... efm, what part of the great USA do you hail from? I figure you pretty much gotta either be a left-coaster or one hell of a night owl ... hell, for that matter, at this hour, you're a bit of an owl, even on this side of the continent ...

Since I've never tried either of the choices, I would go with whichever would take the longest to smoke, since I'm about to be shot and all.

And for Steve, I am on the East Coast, working nights.

Given the choices, I would smoke the Gurkha Robusto

I would smoke the Indios Puros, but ask for the 18" long "Chief". I can live an extra 2 hours, produce enough smoke to gag the firing squad, thus forcing them to let me go. I used to love the McGiver TV show.

No Habanos? OK, by saying that you imply that other choices can be made....I'm not a smartass just never tried any of the above.

My choice: Any Opus X or Partagas 150.

Me personally, I'd take the Gurkha Robusto, but I'd reach in my back pocket when they weren't looking and switch it with my Padron Anniversary! What are they going to do if they catch me? Shoot me?! Ha! Besides, when I get to heaven, the big guy up there will be smoking the good stuff anyway.

... my final request certainly wouldn't be a cigar. ;-)

I would go with the El Rey del Mundo. By the time I got to the last inch, it would knock me out and I wouldn't remember being shot!

I would go with the Padron 5000 but would have to say "What, no PAM's?"

I would definitely go with the gorilla. It is a popular smoke in my rotation, and the last one I had lasted about an hour and a half. Plus, I don't like the Perdomo No 4, the Padrons that I have had have not been that good, and none of the rest even caught my eye.

Like them all but

Perdomo Cabinet Series Reserve #4
in either Rosado or Maduro would get my nod

with the El Rey Del Mundo Robusto Larga
a close second

And a Bucanero El Capitan Series would beat em both!

I'm with ducati. The 18" long Chief might put the firing squad to sleep and I could make one of them there eescapes!

alure would be more important than the taste..

Or maybe the coolest band..

Well ... I know it's not on the list ... but a Man's last wish is a Man's last wish .... and you have to grant it....

I'd ask for nothing other than a Salazar Diplomatico !

The world's most famous and most elusive cigar ... available only to those within the circle and so secretive that those that have them have to swear never to tell where they got them or better yet, never even admit that they have them ... hopefully I'll smoke the second (and last) one that I have when my son gives me my first grandchild - he's 11 - I smoked the first one when he was born.

Gee Wiz DrMaddVibe, I thought it was a pretty decent selection but if you'd rather smoke the blindfold...

Interesting responses from y'all. So far the Padron is in the lead with 6 votes followed by Perdomo with 5. And 1 each for EDRM, Gurka, IT and PI. I expected more votes for EDRM which I think is pretty popular.

none of those.

i would rather smoke some crappy cigar, of which i have many, and then who would care about getting shot.

I would hate to think any one on the list would be my last smoke, which I'm in no hurry to set a match to. If I had to choose I guess I'd pick a long slow-burner. Given the wishful-thinking of this surevey, I always try to choose a pretty good cigar to celebrate life and a lousy one just to pass the time.
