Does anyone know of any other auction sites out there? I know that ebay does not allow tobacco products. Any one else?

Doesn't matter---this one's the best. Why waste your time with the others...

Hmm. Wonder how our host feels about this question. Wonder how Slim feels about it. Probably won't have to wonder for long. *sigh*

I agree with all; this is the best, but wmtellcigars on Yahoo auctions has a deal or 2...not too much competion on the bidding. And guess what!? You can always find Opus X's!

I think we all look for the best deals. Auctions have some of the best. Plus, CBid is fun. Keep looking and you'll find the same sources we did. This is not the place to pick our brains.

let's all list as many competitors as we can on cbid's board. let's use this site to inform each other about other cigar auctions, stores, places to buy on line. i'm sure they won't mind and would probably appreciate us doing so.

i'll bet that's what cbid had in mind, when they built this site, a place where other sites can be advertised.

what nice guys here.

I appreciate the help all have given. I have bought many cigars through CI and Cigar Bid. I am only looking for other sites that may sell cigars at auction for a change of pace and maybe a little varied of a selection. You have to understand that this is'nt an actual auction site as let's say ebay. It is a tool that CI uses to boost sales and to offer a different buying experience to all. Thank you and I hope that everyone has happy holiday's. Oh yeah, in regards to the host not liking my message, I do opologize, my only goal was to communicate with other cigar enthusiasts. Happy holidays

jimmys --- bottom line is ... it is stated in our hosts 'Gerenral Guidelines' that we do not post competing web sites ... period.

You state that, "You have to understand that this isn't an actual auction site as let's say ebay."

Give us all a break. This site is nothing BUT an auction site. That's all it is ... CI has a retail site for just selling retail, and this site is strictly auction, and nothing else ...

... and unquestionably the foremost cigar auction site on the internet!

When asking such questions ... post your email addy so folks can send you answers to your queries. Or better yet ... just do a 'google.com' search, and you will see for yourself.

The price/value ratio here is the best of any site. The quality of customer service is unbeatable here.

As in the immortal words of the Three Stooges "There's no other place around the place so this must be the place!"

I don't think it is Cigarbid's intent to follow the "Macy" store policy as in "Miracle on 34th Street", and send customers to competing sites!

To anyone who took any offense to my inquiry, I do appologize. I do agree that this is a great source for cigars. However, does everyone buy all of their cigars at only one place? Am I the only one who shops around? I shop on the internet in addition to 3 local smoke shops and several out of town. Again, I meant to upset noone.

Jimmys ...

This site (CigarBid) is run by Cigars International ... their business is to sell cigars, not to run BBs

However, they ARE hosting a BB for the convenience of their patrons ... in doing so, they ask for a few guidelines to be followed, one of which is to NOT mention any competitors in your postings ... while they might HOPE you'll buy more cigars from them than from any of their competitors, they do not require anyone to do so as a condition of posting ... from time to time, some of the guys will mention purchases that they've made "elsewhere" or "at another company" or whatever, but they don't name names ... that's the rule ... and it's quite understandable WHY it's the rule ... CI knows you will do some buying elsewhere, they just don't want you to call specific attention to it while in their "store" ...

You will find, as we all have, that they are a good source from which to purchase cigars ... they are wonderful hosts and we all enjoy ourselves here ... we think it's REASONABLE to go along with their rules and while it does not offend us when someone violates them, what we do NOT want is to have our hosts become offended to the point they stop being our hosts ...

So .... buy what you like ... do as many of us do and look here first when shopping ... and on the occasions you buy elsewhere, just don't say where ... and don't ask for recommendations to other sites, 'cause we're playin' by the rules and we ain't gonna give 'em to you ... OK?
