Merry Christmas all--What special smoke(s) do you have lined up for today? It's kinda cold here in Tx., but I have a Bucanero Full Sail ready and maybe a PAM on deck...

I just finished a C.A.O. Odyssey this morning with a fresh pot of Alto Grande coffee from Puerto Rico (my last 8 oz. can) ... and I forgot how wonderful these cigars really are. Very smooth and full of dynamite flavor for such a massive (true) torpedo. A true masterpiece.

Later on, I'm going to fire up a Fuente Fuente Opus X Reserva d'Chateau that was gifted to me by BMW for this day (he gifted me a Petite Lancero for Thanksgiving) ...

And, of course ... I'm going to smoke a Bucanero el Capitan Reserva Maduro (rated 4.7 in smoke magazine) to finish off my evening.

... it's going to be a good day!

Smoked a La Gloria Series R for the first time and discovered its not really a morning cigar - unless you like to be knocked out of your socks early. I definitely was not ready for the strength, a real powerhouse.

Methinks I'll have a Punch Elite X with a cup of Jamaica Blue Mountain. The afternoon calls for a Punch Pita X. The evening smoke is going to be an AF Anejo I got in a trade W/Jazzman. That's the one I'm going fire up at 6pm PST and blow smoke in all directions. Merry Christmas to all. X

We'll be visiting relatives. At our 1st stop they smoke cigarettes so maybe I'll get lucky. I'm taking a tin of CAO Petite Maduros just in case. At the 2nd stop I know that there will be no smoking. Bunch of smoke-nazis will be there.

I am enjoying an El Rey del Mundo Choix Supreme aged since 2/01 along with some Texas Port, both or which were gifted to me by a "Secret Santa" (he,he, I know who he is). What a great follow up from a big Steak and Tater Christmass meal. Later, so many to choose from, PAM/PAN, Opus, Anejo, Untold Story, or another one of my very few Cubans. Damn, I hate to make such tough decisions on a Holiday, LOL.

Merry Christmass Everyone! Enjoy,

Barry

Not sure if it was the CAO Brazilla Gol or the hangover from last nite's Jack Daniels, but the CAO at 1000AM about knocked my socks off!!!! Well on to the AVO XO and another viewing of Spiderman!

Dezbo probably meant it funny but it didn't look right without the smileyface. Some of my sarcasm doen't take to print too well sometimes.

Merry Christmas to all. I did in a Perdomo La Tradicion Red Label, posted in different thread.

BTW, Dez, my next jo is at 9 pm, if I planned it right ;o) (See, it looks friendlier with a smiley!)

It's been a really great holiday. My early present arrived via FedEx late yesterday. I got a box of Ashton VSG Robustos. My son and I each smoked one late last night. Today, I slept in 'til about 10:00. Then I spent most of the day in the kitchen cooking for the family. Somewhere around 1:00 in the afternoon we finally opened our presents. After dinner my son joined me for an Opus X. It's the first one he ever smoked. He said he enjoyed the Ashton more than the Opus. I could go either way myself.

It's really great having my son back home. He just moved back to Virginia after living in Texas for the past 3 years. Hope everyone had a great day.

Morning: RyJ ISOM
Afternoon: Bucanero Maduro torp
Early Evening: CAO Criollo
Late Evening: TBA

A great many thoughts about the good life we've got and how many people don't have as much ... about the nature of our group here and of the very real high-quality friendships that have been forged in this virtual medium ... I've got a CD of "cigar music" playing right now that was very unexpectedly gifted to me by one of our bretheren and I find it to be remarkably apropos for the occasion ...

A very pleasant day ... great thanks to all of you ... you add a lot to my life ...

Seeing as how I had to work last night from 10 - 6 and again tonight, I didn't get much time to relax and really enjoy anything. I settled for an Ashton Cabinet Series. Nothing serious, but it was good, nonetheless. Merry Christmas to all.

Just finished a PAM Imperial. It was a fitting smoke to celebrate the holiday. Medium body with a nice earthy/spicy flavour. I am now going to have a 5 Vegas panatela. Merry Christmas to all.

tarheel ... I can identify with what you're saying about work ... my ex-Navy, now policeman son had to work last night as well ... he came here for an early dinner yesterday, went to work in the evening and then came back here at 5am instead of going home ... went to bed for several hours, got up and enjoyed as much of the day as he could before going back to bed for a while, then getting up to work out and go back to his job again tonight ... I DID manage to sneak a smoke with him and his brothers during the afternoon but it's not easy on him and on you and on other guys whose chosen path involves serving the greater good of society ... I have a lot of respect and admiration for guys such as the two of you and smithbw, Rayder1, Rookie, Sgt Crossbones, adroomi and the others in our cigar family who are traveling on the roads you're on ... my best wishes to all you guys and I hope that however much of the Christmas holiday you were able to spend with your families was as good as that we enjoyed with my son ... and my sincere best wishes to all of you for the new year ahead.

Happy Holidays all!...I consider every one of you (including Des..LOL) a good friend!...Be safe all

Only had time for two: Ashton VSG Sorcerer a.m. and Don Carlos Belicoso with a pint of Guinness p.m. Didn't feel like doing anything after Christmas dinner except visiting with my two sons and listening to old Ray Stephens songs like "Mississippi Squirrel".

Thank You Steve.

I managed, by fortunate assignment, to get Christmas and the day after off. The first time in the last 6 years. My smoking was inhibited by family visits and the non smoking environments they bring.

One 'lil CAO petit was all I could squeeze in.

My wife must be seeing the light. She actually said she "thought" about getting me a new humidor this Christmas.

Happy Holidays to all and hope for a safe and healthy New Year.

I AM A NEWBIE! I really must be...I mean I smoked one LGC series #6 while shoveling the driveway on Christmas
( wife won't let me smoke in the house) and it nearly knocked me on my butt! I can't imagine smoking 3 in one day although I am quite envious of a lot of your selections! Hope everyone had a great holiday!

Well I know its late, but what the heck, a La Perlena Black Opal with Crown in the nice cool, crisp, unwarm, freezing air of my deck.
Why can I not smoke in my own house, I pay the damn bills.....
Oh well, as Bill Cosby said " I lost control, dont know when or how"

orrelsm ... go ahead, smoke in the house ... after all, it's YOUR house ... YOU pay the bills ...

oh, wait a minute ... you're not smoking in the house because Mrs said "NO", aren't you ?? Is that her that I can hear in the background saying it's HER house too ???? ... I'll betcha that in the back of your mind, you remember that basic rule of physics you learned back in HS which says that for every action, there's an equal and opposite reaction, huh ??? ... so go ahead, take action and light it up ... just be prepared for her equal and opposite REaction ... could be the temp on the deck will feel quite warm compared to the temp in the master bedroom once the reaction sets in completely ...

Just pull a sweater over your head or put your jacket on ... join the rest of us out here on the deck ...

I like to share the experience with the whole family,so I open every damn door and window in the house and light up just after they go to bed.I haven't heard a complaint in months. :0)

One thing you can try though,if you have a fire place.Light a fire and open the window behind you or the other side of the room just a crack, the fire will pull all of the cigar smoke out and up the chimney and out of the house.I forget who it was on this board but this is where I heard it first.

On the rare occasion that I smoke in the house, I sit at my desk, which is in the back of the family room. The desk is right next to a window that I open. I get a house fan and turn it on high, facing away from me and out the window. Isn't great, but it keeps the complaints to a minimum.
