Let's say that you had a stick or two (hopefully NOT an entire humidor full) that may have been neglected...

...dried out, rehumidified and then to your horror - appeared to have blown apart!

What would you do?

Too shamed to post pic of it...

HELP!!!!!

Would you smoke it for the heck of it, use it in your fireplace, or God-forbid...toss it?

Blown up, like expanded beyond the original gauge/ring size of he cigar? There is probably no hope for that one! How did this happen?

If they are unsmokable, you can use tham as insecticide for your house/garden plants.

Personally,if I could get a good 3or4 inch stub by cutting it just above the split,I would. If not, just toss it and chaulk it up to experience.

If the tobacco is good I wonder how it'd be to smoke it in a pipe.

Cover the split with clear silicon caulking compound, shoe polish it the same color as the rest of the cigar, and give it to someone you really dislike.

well depends on the type of cigar it is and how bad you want to smoke it. That usaully always happens when a dried cigar gets re humidified too quick. Thats why I got a diplay box to use as a 2nd humidor rejuvinate a neglected cigar slowly, that way it wont explode...LOL. Not funny I know. Other wise cut down to where the split is not so bad and light up.

It happens to the best of us! If you really want to smoke it, try cutting above the split. Also, I found that smoking a little slower and not as large of a draw, my prevent the cigar from heating up too much and splitting the entire length of the cigar.

While some repairs ARE possible, I'd say from the looks of that picture that this cigar is like Humpty Dumpty ... all the Kings horses and all the Kings men and so forth ... clearly, this one is at the point it should be put in the mulch pile, your chimnea or the yard recycling trash can, 'cause no one's gonna be getting any enjoyment from smokin' it

I think if the wrapper is torn and you are looking at the binder it is a lost cigar.

Unless you are a resurrection artist, like a few on this board....then you can glue spare wrappers to your damaged stick.

Yo,E-Chick your fan club awaits at H.P. Nice to see you here, this is my first visit to CBBB.

When would I toss a cigar? As soon as I don't care for the taste.IMO if they start crummy they stay crummy.Life is too short, etc.

I'm betting since JRBB shut down we'll be seeing a lot more action on this and other boards, probably for the best. While I've always done business with CI and CB,I've never been a huge customer. But that is changing and I'd be interested to see the increase/decrease in sales per centage both at JR and CI/CB over the next three months.JR has lost a lot of free promotion from their customers, now I'm referring newbies and friends to CI and UncleMikey.
