HUMIDITY VS COLD AND WET

Hi everyone, just had a question which I hope you guys and gals could help me with. I had purchased a cigar a week ago from the local shop and proceeded to smoke it within a half hour after arriving home. I smoke outside due to roommates not sharing the same love for cigars as I do. While smoking, the wrapper began to split and continued to do so until I had a stub. The same thing happened the next day. Has this happened to anyone else? Although the weather here in San Diego has been nice, the nights have been chilly for this city. Should I be waiting a certain amount of time to let my cigar reach the same temp as outside? Or should I just limit my smoking to during the day when it isn't as cold. I'm not sure if this makes any sense but any advice would help. Thanks all!

Check out the post titled "Has this happened to you?". Curious what kind of cigar it was and if it came in one of those stupid tubes. In any case a cigar you buy at the local shop should be smokeable--your dealer should replace it.

No, it wasn't the humidity or the temperature. A cigar will not over humidify and swell up in a thirty minutes. Did you buy it from a real cigar dealer? Those supermarket cigar cases I've seen tend to be neglected.
