How long should a cigar last in a zip lock baggie?

... long enough to get them where you are sending them.

I've had cigars that I've accidently left in zip-lock baggies for a week or two ... and they have dried out somewhat.

I have found that they are not air tight ...

I think it should last longer than it does ...

Hey, the actual answer is ... it depends. What the condition of the cigar was at the time it was put in the baggie, whether it has cello on or off, and what conditions the bag is kept in are all factors that will influence it ...

If you're looking to keep a cello'ed cigar in a bag for a time because you don't have a proper humidor, wet part of a paper towel with distilled water, squeeze it so it isn't dripping and put it in the baggie with the cigar ... try not to let it touch the cigar ... then keep the bag in a 70deg dark spot and it should be just fine ...

You can also take a Q-tip and wet it, gently press excess water out of the tips and put it in the baggie with the cigars. This will keep things nicely for about a week or so.

X,
My Mom always said "if you don't wash those ears you'll
grow potatos in there"... or something like that.

Potato flavored cigars??? hmmm... probably as bland as
a Lone wolf.

The air in a baggie is only as humid as the air around you when you seal it. If the relative humidity is 40% when you put the cigar(s) in, you will lose some moisture pretty quick from the cigar when it tries to equalize with the atmosphere in the bag.

The added humidity of a Q-tip will work great (good idea!). Better to use PG as not to exceed 70-72%.

I think Cbid packs cigars in a humidified environment so they will keep longer in baggies.
