When you go out searching for "Cuban cigars" on the internet you see some of the sites with the "Licensed Habanos Dealer" emblem on the site. Would these sites be, IYHO, "trustworthy" to send real cuban cigars? There are sites that say that they will deliver in the US but the cigars are not in the original boxes. This is in case the package is inspected.

Do you think that by having the license that this would keep them on the up and up? You can't really check the stamps and boxes, etc. for originality.

I would think that if they were shady enough to trick their way through customs, you might want to think twice about their overall trustworthiness. Just my opinion.

tarheel4lyf --- It's illegal, for God's sake, they HAVE to trick their way through customs ... and they ALL do it in some form or another (at least the reputable ones do). One site I buy from is supplied by Hunters & Frankau, importers with over 200 years experience ... and they ship with a cleverness unparalled.

Fubar69 --- just because they have the "Licensed Habanos Dealer" emblem on their site, it doesn't mean they are legit. The internet is full of deceit and phony e-commerce) ... deal only with those you KNOW are reputable, from those who have dealt with them in the past, and have had favorable results. Or, make sure they are a 'La Casa del Habanos' ...

So ... if we don't deal with someone who's smart enough to get past customs should we deal with someone who's NOT smart enough to do so ????? ...

Color me a little confused on the logic ...

Re: ISOM's

Like the "Masons" motto "2 b 1 ask 1" that's how to aquire habanos. First, you must earn the trust of your fellow smokers and secondly, you never mention your supplier by name on any BB out of respect to them.

Look around the net, ask the supplier questions, and if you feel so compelled, order a sampler from them. Most samplers can be found for around $50 or so. If you receive a package and they are legit, then you have found your dealer. If at any time it doesn't feel right or you feel wronged then don't purchase from them again. Also on the plus side, any A-1 OK dealer worth their salt should offer a delivery guarantee and a return policy.

That's my 2 cents worth.
