I just won a 5-pack of the CAO L´Anniversaire eXtreme, they look like the cameroons. Have any of you tried them? These may be too strong for me. I love CAO L´Anniversaire's cameroon so I went for them. The size is 6.7" x 40 ring. Am I in over my head?
Would appreciate a couple of reviews or comments.

They're a good cigar, but a different taste than the cameroon. The wrapper has a lot of oil in it, so expect them to burn uneven. This doesn't mean they're a bad cigar though. They're also not as full bodied as I expected they would be, but they are fuller bodied than the cameroon.

ENJOY!!!...octo

Tried one last summer. Seemed harsh to me and I love strong cigars. But I've read good reports so people do like them.

Didn't do much for me. The cammies and Brazilias are my go to CAOs.

I just had my first one a few days ago. They are right about them burning unevenly. It was good, but not amazing...and it did seem a little harsh.

I tried one this last weekend. I bought it because I love the cameroon. The extreme burned unevenly tho whole time, which was frustrating. I am glad to hear that others had the same experience because I thought it was something I did. Anyway, I thought the flavor was nice. Not too overpowering, and I tend to prefer medium to full bodied. Not worth the money IMO, particularly when compared to other CAOs that I really enjoy, but if you got a good deal and you expect the uneven burn you won't be disappointed.

Had one last weekend that I purchased last summer. Didn't have any burn problems and it was a damn nice smoke.

Try one now and see what happens. If it burns uneven then let them sit for awhile.

As far as the strength issue goes. They are not as strong as the name suggests. The maduros seem like the strongest in the CAO line to me.

Guys & Gal

Well, I recieved my five pack of these smokes! Tonight I smoked one, it was GREAT! Full bodied, and very smooth. The draw on the first one was perfect!

I used a punch cutter, it was just right. Lots of creamy smoke and nice aroma! I will smoke another in a few days. If its the same, I will make this a regular smoke on my list! So far I'm very satisfied!

Mag,

I've smoked the belicoso and agree with what you said. They are very smooth with a lot of creamy smoke. Like you, I've added them to my list.

I bought a box of robustos about 9 months ago and at first they were quite harsh compared to the Belicoso I had tried originally. But after 9 months of aging they have become much more complex and are very smooth. So let'm age a while and you will be even more impressed with them!!

I am fairly new to smoking cigars and must say I was weaned on CAO. I love the whole line from Brazila to the Cameroon. I started with the Cameroon’s and quickly moved on to the Extremes. Currently the Extreme Churchill wins hands down as my favorite. As far as uneven burning goes I have found aging in my humidor produces a much better burning cigar. My problem is I can’t keep them long enough for them to age

Mag, I won a five pack of these a while back and have really enjoyed the ones I've had. The smaller ring size to me is much smoother than the larger. Enjoy the rest, very creamy!
