I know that the level of magnisium in the soil effects the color of the ash.

I'm wondering what causes a particular cigar to produce a lot or a little smoke.

Also, are there different strains of tobacco (like there are many different types of apples) that results in different tastes or is taste more dependent on the soil content (like the ash color is)?

Lot's or little smoke=cigar construction and how rolled. Yes, there are many types of tobacco made for the filler,binder and wrapper. X
