I guess it pays to wait..
Last night I won 2 different lots of five that I have been low balling a few times.
IT Cameroon Legend Gorillas got it for $15, 2 days ago it went for $21.
La Perla Habana Classic Toros got it for $10, 2 days ago went for $14

I haven't been bidding a long time, but I guess it pays to stick to your guns and don't get too upset about losing. Also don't be too be eager to bid higher.

I haven't tried either of these cigars yet. How are they?

Haven't tried those La Perlas, but the Black Pearl is one of my faves. The IT is good, just set aside the time for a big honking ass cigar.

Delayed Gratification applies in the cigar industry, wine industry and many others abroad. If I thought all cigars were like the fresh hand-rolled one I got in Mexico, they would all be crap. Most need some TLC time in a humi after you buy them. Like Low mentioned some quality smoke go for practically pennies on the dollar if you are diligent and study the bids.

did you really smoke a fresh rolled cigar in mexico?
i hope you did not drink the water.

can you picture that store out there bidding on the cigar leaves they want to buy to roll thier cigars, or can you picture the store owner rolling leaves from trees that his son has just raked of the ground.

i'm sorry to be sarcastic. i was going to delete it as impertinent, but i thought it read well and i didn't want to lose the picture in my mind.

Rick, No offense take.. I thought it was kind of funny. But the cigar thing in Mexico definitely taught me a lesson. Never smoke a fresh made cigar! Tasted like it could have been made from raked leaves now that I think of it.

Low, I've smoked many La Perla Habanas. They are good smokes. I've had good luck getting them here. Under $10 many times, for a 5-Pack. As soon as others discover these, the price will go up in my opinion.
Smoke Magazine has them rated in the latest issue at 4.0 or 4.2 which is good. You better stock up!

Got the delivery yesterday and smoked a Gorilla last night. I thought it was pretty good. Burned great for a thick 'gar and produced a lot of smoke. I you guys say to let them "sleep" for a while and they will get better, I'll be in for a real treat.
