I was just gifted a Partagas Series D Habana. Have not smoked one of these before. What can I look forward to when I light up?

... one of the best ISOM's ever produced, that's all.

Which one is it? I'm guessing it's the Partagas Serie D No. 4 ... since the No. 3 is the Limited Edition Maduro.

This is truely a great robusto. It lights with ease and burns beautiful. It will give you an hour of great pleasure with volumes of smoke. The taste is of spice, nuts and coco mixed in, and its a powerhouse of a cigar.

So sit down and have a nice drink and puff away, because you will wish you had another ...

Clearly in the top five when it comes to Cuban cigars.

They start off a real Powerhouse but mellow down a bit. Just hang in there!!!! The finish is worth it!!!!

Slim, you are correct! It is a #4. After hearing the reviews from you all, I can't wait! It will be my Super Bowl treat tomorrow. Thanks!

Just a tip, Eat something hearty prior to lighting up. They aren't Boli's, but they are stout...

I have to concur. PSD 4's are one of the best smokes made anywhere. Full body, tons of smoke and flavour. The last one I had lasted for slightly over an hour, and it was one of the best hours of my life.

An awesome smoke!...I had my first PSD#4 New Year's Eve 1999-2000 and it was one of the best smokes I've ever had!...A definite fingertip-burner!

As requested, here is my take on the PSD#4. The first inch was nothing to write home about. After that things started to pick up. It sure isn't your father's Oldsmobile. Started getting great peppery and spicy flavors with a little cedar thrown in. About half way through, my eyes started to roll back in my head! I like medium to full bodied smokes (Oliva O Maduro is one of my favorites) and this puppy did not disappoint. About the time it started to burn my fingers, it also started to bite my tongue. I guess it was telling me it was time to quit. It lasted about 11/2 hours. I hope to get another one of these real soon!

A friend insisted on giving me his last Cuban. As I don't buy Cuban cigar often,I told him the next one I got was his. I lied. Got a five pack of Partagas Chicos that I didn't think was a fair trade for the ERDM 1997 Corona Doble. So I smoked them. Today I was given a Series D. After reading this thread it's going to be hard to give it up. But I'll try.
