I used to be partial to Dominican cigars. Lately, I've come to the realization that the best non-Cuban cigars in the world come from Nicaragua. The tobacco seems to have a certain character that Dominican and Honduran cigars are lacking (in general). I'm sure that there are some exceptions to this. I'd like to hear other opinions.

Give this man a cookie! I always recommend the Mayorga, as they don't break anyones bank. All the Perdomo treats are worthwhile if you're into that. Padron, one of my favorites. All easy to get.

Another Nicaraguan cigar that is as good as Mayorga is the La Rosa Especial line. A tasty ass kicker.

I'm with you on the padrons. It's become one of my favorites but I am still smoking HDM and Punch regularly.

true true true. All good smokes and yes nicaragua is making themselves a name lately with some fantastic smokes. CAO is now made there vs. Costa Rica a year ago. Still not sure if that is a good thing though. Taste has definately changed.

Just got my latest shipment of Nicaraguan beauties from Cigarbid. CAO Cameroon Toros, always a joy. Bahia Trinidad: smoking my first one as I write this. Tasty so far, but needs a little humidor time. And Dos Rios Robustos. I haven't tried the Dos Rios yet, but the night is young. Isn't life great?

I haven't been able to warm up to the Dos Rios after my 1st 5 pack. Just not an exciting smoke. I just ordered 5 of the Robustos and will give em another chance....or give em away.

Gotta agree on the La Rosa. Just had my first today and it seems to be a promising cigar.

I just finished a Dos Rios Robusto. It started off very nice. Burned evenly, good construction and draw. It started to get a little harsh about halfway through. I think that with age, it will be a great smoke.
