Hi, Gents,
I'll be taking a cruise in the southern Caribbean first week of March and, as always, I'm thinking cigars! Does anyone know if I might find some good deals on Dominican, Honduran or Nicoraguans on St. Thomas, Antigua, St. Maarten, St. Lucia or Barbados?
Hoping for some Fuentes, Cristos, Opus or the like.
As always, thanx for the help, Guys!

I was in St.Mateen a little over a year ago. When you dock you will be ferried over into the downtown area. There is a main street that runs parallel with the beach where all the shopping is. When exiting the ferry stay left and within a few blocks there is a Habanos dealer on your right hand side. I'm not sure of the name but the shop is located on the second floor above street level. Great selection and really good prices.

I was in Antigua a couple of years ago and the place is beautiful but the cigar selection is limited and overpriced. I think most were counterfeit but you might get lucky. I hope you enjoy the cruise, but I recommend bringing quality smokes to avoid disappointment.

Don't waste you're time looking for smokes in Antigua. You should hit the beaches! Some of the best in the Caribbean. St.Maarten is my personal "Eden" on earth! My wife and I have thought of moving there, that's how much we love it there! A cruise won't to the island any justice, but the first time we went there we were on a cruise. We went on a snorkeling excursion on a catamaran and they too us about 10 miles off of the French side to the only Nazis "stronghold" in the northern hemishphere. There's an airstrip that's barely visable, and even when diving you can see a couple of wings and ammo boxes laying on the bottom of the ocean.

If it were me, I'd stop in Puerto Rico and pick up what you need and enjoy the cruise without going on the "Neverending Journey".

Only go to Casa Del Habano for Cubans. There is on on the Dutch side of St. Maarten and 1 on the French side of St. Martin. Barbados has one too. As for the non Cuban sticks, wait till you get to St. Thomas, since it's a US Virgin island, no cuban cigars.
