Anyone tried one yet? I picked up a few 'cause the local shop couldn't sell the special edition box ($500/50 sticks). So he broke it up and selling singles. Supposedly an even more tasty, robust and extensively aged all corojo blend the Diploma-11/18. Prices ranged between $8-13.

The Camacho Liberty is a medium+ to full strength cigar. Don't smoke these on an empty stomach. A very good cigar IMO. X

It's hard to keep my hands off the Diplomas. Can't wait to try the Liberty.

I particularly enjoy the Camacho Corojo toprs. In fact, my supply has dwindled to nill.. I recall when those Libertys were at the local tobacconist. A box of 50 for 500 bux. I asked the guy, can I smoke one? He said "No! you have to buy the box!" I said, can I see one? he said "No!" What's wrong with this picture? Why would anyone buy a cigar that they've never smoked and couldn't even see at 500 bux for the box?

Agreed, I would never purchase a box or any cigar without first being able to see it, touch it, smell it etc...

Wait a minute - I can't do that here at CI either. Hmmmm....

Regards,

That's why you buy 5 packs first. :)

Smoked my Liberty last night. Simply awesome is the description. Although it was about like a corona gorda VSG in size it burned for over an hour. Incredible spice and smooth. Not as peppery as a VSG. Dark Gray ash, even burn. It kicked into afterburner after the halfway point and a characteristic "twang" that you usually get with prime Havanas developed all the way to the nub. I've got band-aids on my fingertips...

I agree. I would not buy a box like that without first trying one and I think retailers are breaking up these boxes because of that. I will be back today to see if he has any left...

Getting ready to smoke my first Liberty. Have a couple others at home sleeping, but this one traveled with me this week. My dealer has broken up his boxes, too. I agree that I'd be slow to drop 500 dead presidents for a case of unproven sticks. Although I think I'm about to have a real treat, if my previous experience with Camacho is any barometer.

X,
I'd be willing to go in 1/4s on a box. Interested in taking this to the Trade board?

JD1,where I've seen em go for this price is on the Y auction site. As recently as last week. I haven't seen them go for less than about $375 at some other cigar sites. X

Supposedly, Camacho will be releasing another version. Possibly this year some time. The Liberty 50 ct box will not be repeated. They should sell these in 12ct boxes.

Hoo-ah, the Liberty is a great smoke. Thing is, I can crave the $4 Camacho Corojo just as much. Not to knock the Liberty - full body and flavor with a kick. It's that the regular Camacho Corojo's are just as great. It's a tribute to Camacho that everything is good quality.
