I just got finished reading about a group of fifty westerners who are traveling to Iraq in an effort to keep the U.S. from launching an offensive. I am outraged, this is no different then Jane Fonda going to North Vietnam. These have to be the most clueless people in existence, Saddam could not have purchased better press. If he took hostages the world would see him as the vermin he is. He does not have to take anyone against their will, there are fifty people who feel if they put themselves in front of the force of the United States military this will stop a war. This type of action is crazy brave. What it does is their lives at risk and adds an already complicated matter. If the Americans among them return they should be tried just like Johnny Talaban. I have not been this angry about anything since 9/11.

Charlie just posted about this and I had made a post awhile back on it..
and yes they should be tried as treason to the country... they would be considered aiding and abeding the Enemy if War was to happen... so if they did servive they could come back and be held Liable...

on another thought Give them some GPS's and let them have at it... because If/When War breaks out Saddam is going to use them for just that... Human Shields... there viable to him now for media purposes and thats all...

the laws are in the Citizenship of this Country...

Well, I don't think this is really treason. I say let them go. If war breaks out and they are killed in a bomb blast that is their own fault.

If there is a war the US shouldn't hesitate one bit just because these people are there.

They are a bunch of super do good fools! I understand their leader, ex Desert Storm Vet, was deported! Where the hell did they deport him to?

They may never make it into Iraq, since Iraq is requesting 1,000 US Dollars per "Shield" to enter the country! Maybe they can set on border and hang out signs will "Shield for Food"!!!

I like the GPS idea Hog!

the thought of them being there... in a possible strike area.. the Media attention should the War Breakout and we (The US) do strike a target where some of these Idiots were.. then it falls back on who?? and then who is at risk because 1 we have to comfort the american feelings back in the US and 2 the missed targets that can possibly cause many US Lives becuase it wasn't taken out Stratigicaly (sp) prior for fear of Possible US Citizen Decoys... or what ever you want to call them... its Aiding and Abeding.. and they should be tried for it....to think of it its more Un American than anything

Its only aiding and abeting if the US was going to hit a target but then decides it can't because these idiots are there. If the US determines they are at a military target and hits it anyway and they die, well they haven't really aided anyone.

Of course the best solution for this IMHO is that if they leave they should be allowed back in the states.

I can go to Cuba. I just can't get there from the US. A local radio station a few years back was giving away a cigar tour. They flew you to Canada and from there you could take a flight to Cuba. I'm assuming is had to be legal because they actually gave the prize away and the winner went to Cuba.

I'm assuming the same thing here. They must have went somewhere out of the states and then took a flight to Iraq.

This morning the news was Iraq was going to give them the Visa to come in. It did not mention the $1000 per loser but I can see them going for the money why not in about a month there money won't spend the dollar will be the bill of choice.

I don't believe for a minute that our military would hesitate to strike a target because these protestors are there. This is particularly true when it comes to instalations that if left operating would pose a risk to future missions.
