I like the cigar caddy. Has a lot of advantages. One disadvantage is it doesn't exactly fit in your pocket easily.

Just bought the OtterBox Cigar Caddy 3400 from CI.

Anyone besides Spiny got one?? Any comments about it?

Mike at Cust. Serv. said he had one and likes it. But then again he WAS trying to close the sale!! LOL

I have the OtterBox 5000 that I use for traveling. I put my cigars in humi-pouches and put them in the otterbox. I can safely and conveniently carry about 25-30 cigars that way which is plenty for any trip I've taken. I find the humi-pouches regulate the humidity better inside the otterbox than the PG solution with oasis.

Sherman Traveldor! Do a google and then e-mail Hog. Very simular to the otterbox, slightly more expensive but the upgraded fitted foam inserts are well worth it IMO.I have the Deluxe 30 model.

JJ,
Already spoke to Hog about this. Went to the website and looked at them. Prices are a little too rich for my blood right not, but will definately look into it in the future.
Just looking for a little something to bring 3-5 gars in.

Thanks,
Low

Low,
I picked up a Cigar Caddy here on Cbid. It holds 5 churchills and it came with a lighter and 5 Perdomos----drum roll: $19
They'll come back around...

Thanks JD, I already bought the Otterbox. I'll keep my eye open for that again though.

Spiny, that looks pretty good too. I may look into that.

I just got the Otter Box but mine didn't have the lighter combo.

It looks like it'll withstand just about any abuse. I would wonder about stuffing a cigar in the slot adjacent to the humidifier. Just doesn't look like a good place to be without cellophane.

Some of the better quality cigar boxes work great as travel humidors. I usually take one with me on business trips so I can carry 15 to 20 cigars. Just stick a small credo to the box lid and it's good to go. If conditions are real extreme just slide the whole box into a 2 gallon ziploc bag. Not pretty but effective. And since I usually end up smokin em all while I'm travelling there's no need to take the box home, so I can just toss it.

I have an otterbox 5 capacity. I was coming down the steps to my deck and I started to trip. I wanted to save my cigars inside (there were two PAM's in there) and managed to catch my balance. Then I tripped again and said screw it...I threw the caddy and jumped off the remainder of the steps. It landed on the concrete below and didn't dent or even scratch. I was impressed, and my PAM's were safe. I needed to change my shorts, but I had some nice smokes to make up for it :)

Hmmmmm, broken PAM's vs a broken neck. I can see the dilemma. I don't think I could of made that decision.

Otterbox is great. I have the 3400 (5 'gars).
It's waterproof (I went whitewater rafting with it and smoked a great stogie at lunch).
Because it has the hermetic seal, humidity exchange is not a big problem. Don't charge the oasis and you won't have to worry about the cigar next to it.
I also took it with me on my recent trip to Florida. Checked it in my duffle bag. Cigars made it through baggage handlers with no ill effects!
Worth 10X the price.

Thanks 'gater... If I don't charge the humidifer, will the 'gars be OK for about a week? Is the seal in it that good??

'Steve... thanks for the story and testimony for the OtterBox. Now, Watch your step!!!

I have a few old cigar boxes I lined with foam and put a small humidifier in them. They work great and were free.

Check out the "specials" category. With 750 up for grabs, I figure I can afford to point it out.
