Ropeman is very busy today so I am posting the details.

People attending are invited to meet at CBID Headquarters (826 Monocacy)for a "special activity" at 2 PM SHARP on 3/1/03. Some of us cigar nuts will be on hand to say hi and have a goodie bag for cbidders. Please park in our upper parking lot on the Goepp St. side.

From there we are heading up to the Bethlehem Brew Works (which is only 2 blocks away) for the herf. We have been told they should be opening their downstairs early (pool table and separate private bar area). Food downstairs is prohibited, attempts are being made to get them to serve for us early but in any case the upstairs has a large pub area, so when the urge strikes we can go upstairs en masse or in groups. We can reserve tables only ½ to an hour ahead of time so some planning will be necessary once everyone is assembled.

Additionally we are trying to get some Cigar Reps to attend to be on hand to answer questions and have more samples. I will try to keep you abreast of these details. If you have any questions or need directions you can post here or email myself or ropeman.
We hope to see many attend and hope you all have a blast!!

OH, is the "headquarters" the storefront or the warehouse? I know they are close, but different addresses.

Please keep in mind:

Whoever dares to ask the "cello on or off" question will be forced to buy a round of shots for everyone in attendance. Failure to do so will result in the confiscation of your cigars as well as your removal from the HERF.

dang, dang, dang. I am going to be in the state of PA, first week in Sharon, back to L.A. and the next week in Clearfield. I would love to do the HERF. Does anybody know what it takes to drive from Sharon to the CI area? The herf is the weekend in between my two trips. WHY ME!

We just received word that there will be representatives from General Cigar and Drew Estate attending the herf to talk cigars and hand out samples. Leon Jimenes will also be sending cigars to be handed out to those who attend.

qball,
No sign up is necessary, since the event will be pay your own way. The only thing you will have to pay for is the beer and food at Brew Works.

Get directions from mapquest. I live outside of Newark and it is 78.25 miles and approx 1hr,26min.
Looks pretty easy, rt 78 west into PA and a few turns from there..

Hope to see you there... if the weather cooperates..

Yea....the weather isn't looking good. Looks like I got about an 80 mile trip also, not bad.

Me and a buddy are definately coming if we don't get the 6+ inches that's possible.

Potholes....reason #23 for hating snow.

Well, unfortunately we are getting 6+ inches ending Friday evening. If we do, it doesn't look good for me. Both me and my friend who was driving have to take care of removing snow for family and neighbors. This sucks....I hate friggin snow!

It shouldn't be too bad here in Bethlehem...they are only calling for light snow. Either way, the snow is coming Friday. The roads will be clear Saturday :)

First-timers must pass through the Paddy-Wack machine every hour on the hour. But other than that, smoke, eat, drink, get free stuff, and enjoy yourself.

I'll be in the back, with my wooden fraternity paddle.

Matches will be on hand...

And did I forget to mention, first-timers must treat the house to a drink :) Just kidding.

I was thinkin' of bringing :

Monte #2 (ISOM)
Graycliff Pirate
Padron Anniversary 1964 Natural Torp
Opus X Perfecxion X
Ashton VSG Corona Gorda or Avo 22

Don't know how many I will smoke or in what order... Depends on how much time...

Is that OVER-DOING it? I figured this was my first Herf, so I gonna break out my "Special Occasion" cigars.
