As a proud Dad of a Son in the United States Navy,It really bothers me to see Americans who would rather direct their anger toward their own Country instead of the ones who have attacked it and will continue to attack it until they are stopped,I am just an old country boy truck driver, some may say a redneck,But I do know what it has taken to make this the greatest Country on earth,It was the blood and lives of our Patriotic Men and Women who made it possible for all of us to express our views. The past year since Our Son returned from Pakastan he has been in intense training for this new unit,Check out the newspaper article on it at > http://www.pilotonline.com/military/ml0212mob.html.Whatever your view on war ,Please do not ever quit being proud to be an American.

Protesting or objecting to a war does not make you anti-american or less proud to be from this country. It just means that the action of war is objectionable.

Why can't you people understand that?

Why don't you understand that over 3000 people died on 9/11/01? They were not only Americans, but from all over the world, and we should let actions like that go unchecked???? Huh, duh, and whatever else it takes to let you peacenicks understand!

Nobody wants War, but we have to defend ourselves and the freedoms that we believe in and not roll over and say..."I forgive, and you are free to attack us again", or such sh-t as that!

Support the Military, they are supporting you!!!!

Charlie,

Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11. That was al-Qaeda. Different. The two wars--Afghanistan and Iraq--are totally different. Keep that in mind. You are blurring the two...something the GWB boys encourage for their own benefit.

Arkie, Americans have the right to protest. It's part of what the troops are defending.

Godspeed to your boy.

how about this.....im not against america by any means....im against a government who will make horrible mistakes and then try and rally support for the war to oust the very leaders they put in place

i have a great deal of respect for anyone willing to die for out country....i will not, however, give my life over IRAQ

Mag,

What did I do that was 'disrespectful'?

Plus, many of us (me included) have family who have served in the military, so it isn't the corner of one or the other, this military-thing.

Arkie, God Bless you and your son.
As for the protests, Remember this:
"casual" anti-war peaceniks are not the ones protesting. They are organized and led by anti-Bush and anti-American activists. Extremists, by their very nature, are intollerant of the opposing view.
I know of several people who were at or near some of the recent protests in the Boston area and NYC.
All eye-witnesses told of no unified slogan. Some cried of an "oil war". Some to get out of Isreal. Others held the American flag; UPSIDE DOWN.
Some signs read "Bush = Evil"
"The evil empire is U.S."
The list goes on.
Is this what our freedoms are all about? To gather for no reason other than to oppose American intervention no matter what?
I wish we didn't have to threaten war. But let's not forget who is the bad guys here. And it ain't U.S. !

cayman2b,sorry didnot answer your question, had to get in bed, Had a early run in the 18 wheeler this AM,You were right on they are 250 Hp,They use a GMC turbo Diesel with a Allison Automatic to pull it around town,When it comes to getting nasty, 50 caliber machine guns, gernade launchers,,plus the standard goodies,M-16s ,shotguns, sidearms, plus some undisclosed little nasties.thanks for the kind words. Thanks to all of you for your comments -pro & con.I respect every ones right to their opinion,Do not have to agree, but it would not be the great Country it is if we all belived the same way,But thank God the majority of Americans I Know feel the same way I Do,My Brother and I fought our whole lives sometimes came to blows, but by dammed do not let a outsider try to mess with either of us or try tell us what to do,we will stand together and kick ass,I know when it comes down to it we the American people will do the same thing.
