From the look of that list, Rick, I would attribute it to good luck.

Wow, what a coincidence! Those are the same auctions I won.

Just kidding Rick, sorry to hear about your bad luck. Just let me know if you need me to call my cousin Guido.

I don't know... maybe it's me... But you MIGHT want to raise your bids a little... Some of these look awfully low...

Hard to believe you were outbid on both Lone Wolfs and Bad Frogs. (are there any good cigars with animals in the name)

Rick, I doubt if you'd have prevailed with a $7 bid on a 5-pack of Perdomo (The Cigar) torps, let alone for an entire box ...

Not that you should quit bidding like that ... I do it too ... I'm just surprised when I actually win one ...

The Ashcrofte Corona...a fine way to strike out at the freakish attorney general without going to prison.

The Cigar by Perdomo is a damn good deal, but, as someone else said, that might be hoping for a bit too good of a deal. Never had the Torpedos...how do they taste?

I'm new to this and I've been winning quite a bit, sot I'm not sure if I've been in violation of cbid etiquette. Let me know (nicely) if this is so. I try to never bid over half retail, but I've seen lots of folks going above and beyond regular market price on many items.

It's all those Forbes readers who have been bidding since the CBid article was printed. The economy has slowed and they are going after the low priced smokes.

dboy,

When was that article printed? I'd like to take a look.

I confess that I have gone over half on a few products. I've never had a Drew Estates 'gar before and they always seem to get bid really high. I wanted to start with something inexpensive so I bought the c-notes at retail (shipping will be cheap considering the rest of my weekly shipment) as did everyone else on the board. I also went a bit higher on some Trilogy Cameroon's since I've heard so many good things about them (still got a good deal though). Competition for the primos is pretty fierce.

CBid was mentioned in the December 9, 2002 issue of Forbes in an article entitled Revenge of the Pipsqueaks.
