If you HAD to limit it to 1 cigar and that's all.....what would it be?

The catch: it can NOT include the following: ISOMs, PAMs, Opus, etc.

This is for information purposes and we all know the super-premiums are great.

I assume that you are including CAO in that group of exclusions, so..................

La Aroma de Cuba is a great, great cigar. I prefer the Monarcha, though the Double Corona is great if you have the time and energy.

Honorable mention: Cuesta Rey Centario Pyramid #9 Maduro. Good smoke.

Moderately priced: a toss up between CAO Brazilia and Flor de A. Allones.

Buc's at the top of the list now..

In Premi heading, Avo sig, Ashton, CAO extreme,Fuente hemmi's, Graycliff's, etc. I like to try a lot of different things...

My most memorable cigar was a HDM ISOM I got in Cancun on my honeymoon....could have been the situation and place added to the enjoyment, but it was certianly the best I've enjoyed.

My favorites:

Without considering the high end premium cigars:

Montesino Toro - Maduro
Hoya de Nicaragua - Robusto
Cusano Corojo

Considering high end premiums:

Buccanero -- Full Sail or Peg Leg
Ashton VSG - Anything
AF Hemingway - Anything
CAO Brazilia or Criollo

Jamie you are right they take a while but they are great! It took me about an hour and a half to burn it but it was wonderful the entire way through...

I think my go too cigar is always Fuente, Olivia, and I am going to throw in a back burner Macunudo. Okay, I said it. My name is smithbw and I smoke Macs and Like em too. =)

Almost forgot - anything Sun Grown.

B

I haven't smoked that many cigars but so far the Camacho Corojo is the best. I'm sure there's better ones out there, I just haven't gotten to them yet....yet.

Wait! I didn't put my $.02 in:
Joyo De Nicaragua Antano 1970 Gran Consul or Robusto
Camacho Corojo Figurado
Cupido Criollo Campana
LGC Serie R #5 Maduro

Hemmingways are premiums and not included.

"This is for information purposes and we all know the super-premiums are great."

I beg to differ :) Premium is a matter of price not taste. Opus, Hemmingway, and most ISOM's wouldn't make my top 10.

steve, that statement was to keep those premium sticks that some people do have in their top 10 out of discussion.....and, your top ten is exactly what I'm interested to see (those that don't break the bank).

Ahhh...well in that case, these are my favorite 1-2 buck-a-stick smokes:

The Cigar by Perdomo
Super Premium Seconds
Original Cubans
Savinelli Seconds
Sherpa

Had a The Cigar churchill last night and it was a pretty good smoke for the money. Now, Charlie, you can think of something more stout than the Brazilia...come on;) The only Brazilia I've smoked is the Samba and it was good....just didn't push me to buy more (I've had 3).

LOL,I thought I was the only one who likes Original Cubans, although this is not my fav. I would have to pick Punch Pitas in Dbl Maduro. X

If I had to smoke the super premiums in order to get a decent stogie than I would go back to smoking pipes. However , I have found some reliable inexpensive cigars
mostly here on cbid that I think are pretty tasty.

Regalos(the regular is much tastier than the maduro)

La Finca , Alteza Millenium Maduro,

Maya (NOT the Maya Reserve) , Dictador, and

Hoja de Nicaragua (Maduro only)

On the pricier side, I'd have to go with the Avo Domaine. For a little lighter on the budget, my reigning favorite is the Cupido Criollo.

Slimbo, I just got one of those in trade today. I will be afraid to smoke it until I can find a replacement.
How much age does it need?

Sonny, Brazilas are great-not really full bodied but tremendous smokes with lots of spicy flavor!

OK, the Joya de Nics are just about the strongest, fullest, baddest mothers I have ever smoked! Not a golf course smoke, nor one for driving an automobile-get yourself seated and light it up................wow!

Charlie

PS Sonny, who led you to the Joyas anyway!?

9x52 the masterpiece takes me between 2-3 hours. Perfect with 2-3 pints of Guinness, at my favorite Pub.
My favorite non premium is The Cigar by Perdomo Churchill.

I'm going to have to go with Barry and PadronMan on this one. Right now, my new fav. smoke is the Padron 3000, both natural and maduro are great--just depends on my mood.

CAO Maduros, Partagas Black Labels, and LGC Serie R #5 are a few others.

My favorite is from Drew Estates Natural line called Root. Absolutely the best cigar that I've ever had so far. I guess I don't get out too often though!! Anyway, I just love trying new cigars. I'm always open for something new.
