Finally, I can't believe it!

While shopping around and doing some research for a friend, I found a few that was left over from a box that someone ordered but never picked up, five total. They cost me 29.00 Euros ea. Which is about 32.00 dollars.

Needless to say, they are now resting in my humi. A great find for a reasonable price - I think?? What do you all think?

Regards,

That's pretty high Billy but understandable given where it was purchased. Super Belis are going for about $16 here when they are available.

The sad thing is ... many retailers will charge what they know they can get, because of the limited availability and high demand for the 'rarer' cigars in the Fuente lines.

They are not supposed to 'gouge' customers, and can lose their authorization to sell these lines if they abuse it.

One recourse ... is to find out who the 'rep' is in your area, and have him/her report them. Either they get back in line, or they won't be allowed to carry those lines anymore.

Either way ... it's a no win situation ...

BTW ... the MSRP for the Super Beil was $11.50, although the Fuente's raised the prices on all their lines at the beginning of the year.

I'm not sure what the new MSRP's are ... but I'm sure I can get that info from someone over at CF ...

Also ... in other countries, I know the prices are alway going to be much higher ... and I don't know what the reasons for that are. When I was in PR (even thought is a U.S. territory), I was told the tobacconists there are charged higher wholesale prices than the mainland, even though they are neighboring islands.

Go figure ...

... also, you have to take into consideration what taxes are imposed in each state (or county) that you reside, which can be outrageous!

I was thinking that maybe I could get them cheaper but Fuente is almost impossible to get where I am and taxes are outrages...

Well, at least I 'finally' have the collection complete - that is once I get the Number 2's from pgatour.

Can't wait to get 'em.

Smith, I know you'll enjoy the double corona's :-) A year in the humi this spring. Good luck with your collection. I think this stint in Germany has affected you... YOU'RE TRYING TO TAKE OVER THE CIGAR WORLD!

I tried a Perfection #4, and I honestly don't know what the big deal is.

None really. Mine get from 6-8 months nap time before I smoke them which develops them a little more, but mostly I've either used them in trades or gifts. I'll take a Camacho/PAM/VSG any day over an Opus.

Slim's right. I paid $12 and change last year for Belis. I think they're $13 and change now. But again, that's stateside with a fair brick-and-mortar guy who refuses to gouge. The Opus have always been a "whatever the market will bear" stick. Interestingly, this dealer I buy from doesn't go through them lickety-split. A lot of the regulars prefer Hemingways, Don Carlos and Ashtons.

I tried my first of these a few days ago (purchased out of Delaware for $11.75 a stick). Quite frankly, I was unimpressed overall. The only surprise was the excellent finish. Otherwise, I felt let down. The biggest thrill I got out of this cigar so far, was the good price, and actually receiving it in the mail.

Maybe I've just smoked too many Hemingways, Bucanero Full Sail's and Ashton VSG's? I just seem to prefer them to these. I have one more left, so maybe in a month or so, I'll give it another try.

Oops, I lied. I paid 11.50, not 11.75. If anyone is interested, write me at [email protected] and I'll give you the location to purchase these for 11.50 a stick. Only drawback is that there's a 10 cigar minimum.
