A thread with a post by jd1 brings up a good question. If this has been done to death in the past, please forgive. I have never "saved a cigar". i.e., lit it, smoked on it, put it away for several hours or longer, and came back to it. I figured, once it lost its cherry, it was no good to me anymore =:-o (sorry, must work at least one sexual allusion in to each post). Are there others of you who come back to your gars? If you love something, set it free? If it comes back to you, it's yours? If it doesn't, hunt it down and kill it?

I agree on the Bauza; about medium-bodied. Have only had the Bauza Pyramid. Had one last fishing trip and it seemed to not be full-bodied enough, but finished it the next morning with my coffee and it hit the spot.

I have done this a couple of times, and it is never as good as it was the night before. However, I find that when cut the already burnt end off, about a half inch above the end. It tastes a whole lot better then when I do not.

That's Rick's idea of an aged cigar. LOL

I re-light all the time. A god cigar is always at its best the last 1/3 anyway. Occasionally the re-lighted smoke is harsh, sometimes it is actually better than before, and most of the time they are very smokeable. My .02.

OK, I'll clarify a bit. That particular night, I cut about an inch below the ash. It tasted like a burnt cigar the next day but combined with the strong arse coffee, it was OK 'cause I didn't want to repeat my ordeal from the previous morning of lighting up a full-bodied smoke (the Diploma the previous morning made me null & void for a while). I've since not re-smoked a cigar. If I put it out, it stays out.

i always relight and as the cigr gets shorter i adjust the flame on my torch lighter. i hate the smell of burning hair if i get too close the the jet.

the wones i left in the ashtray outside are almost dried out after that 1 day rain storm we had. leaveing them in the sun to dry is more organic then the micro. 1" of rain is not a lot unless you are a cigar in an ashtray.

wones (the ones i won)

The only cigar I have had success with this is Bucanero. I know Slim is a re-lighter with more concerns for taste than Rick (sorry Rick). Ask him.

Ed, that was a shot across Rick's bow.
