There’s some discussion on artificial maduro smokes on the Cigar Forum.

I found this picture I took a while back (Aug ’05) of the two different Black Pearls I got over a period of time. Will the real maddie please stand up?

The dyed ones were tossed and the real ones were smoked. I guess they corrected the issue but I haven’t bought a Black Pearl since. Too bad, they were nice smokes.

I agree they were a very good smoke before they got that coal black color.

Is the real on the top one?

I read the other thread but there still isn't a concise list of them, though I wish there was.
I had "read" on another forum that a lot of the Perdomos are dyed. I hope that isn't true.

I used to enjoy one with coffee til they started with the coloring. Won't even acknowledge a Black Pearl ever again.
