I had a problem with a CAO product that I felt needed to be addressed. I contacted CAO customer relations via Email, and a few Email's were sent back and forth. Not only was the problem addressed, but it was addressed in a way that truly amazed me.

I have recommended CAO to many people in the past and meant it because they are great tasting cigars. I will now be telling people about the great taste AND the admirable way they treat their customers.

Thanks CAO!

yes, good customer service is an invaluable asset for any business. I got so pissed off at Kroger this morning, I'm never buying groceries there again! I took in a receipt from a week ago when I cooked my wife the eggplant parmesan which induced her labor. I noticed when I got home with my ingredients a week ago that I was charged 4.58 for one head of garlic! It was mistakenly rung up as 1.5 lbs... I had called the manager at the time and he said, no problem, bring in your receipt and we'll give you a refund. So I went in this AM, presented my receipt and explained to the 80 year old man at the customer service desk. After my explanation, I waited... I literally counted to 10 (slowly) in my head. He looked at me, looked back at the receipt and said, "it says here it was a pound and a half". I said, yes but it was just a single head which would have made it about the size of a cantaloupe... I exclaimed again that I had called the manager and he told me to come in and they'd make it right. Another 10 seconds... (counting sloooowly in my head, oooone, twwwwwwo, threeeeee) He looks at me and sez, "well I don't see what I can do without the garlic?" at which point I SNATCHED the receipt out of his hands and said FORGET IT! I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!! I MAKE A GOOD SALARY AND I'M NOT TRYING TO RIP YOU OFF FOR 4 DOLLARS AND 58 F-ING CENTS!! I WAS COMING IN HERE TO BUY THIS LIST (waving list frantically in front of face), BUT NOW I'LL JUST LEAVE AND TAKE MY BUSINESS TO PUBLICS! I'm going to write a lovely missive chronicling the event and mail it to the manager of the store and the regional manager. So who care's about me and my garlic gouging event? Probably no one, but it's illustrative of the affect of poor customer service vs. good customer service. Had the claim been handled correctly as it should have, it would have been a no brainer and I'd have been on my way. As it stands now, unless I'm bleeding from my eyes, I'm NOT going in there for ANYTHING!! That was about a hundred bux a week x 4 = 400 a month x 12 = 4,800 per year x say 3% profit? = 144 bux PROFIT a year, x an estimated 30 more years = 4,320 bux PROFIT from me over the course of my lifetime blown out the door. Buh buy. I REFUSE to pay for goods and services from people who don't value my hard earned dollars! Regardless of how much I may need their services or how good a deal they may be. Customer service is king IMHO.

Well "perhaps" I was a bit harsh. But the point remains and resonates. Customer service is king!! I'm on the porch right now with a CAO torpedo maduro (red label?) I think CAO is right up with ANYBODY in terms of quality and price and now it's good to hear that their service is top notch as well.

CAO Eggplant? Is that anything like the Drew Estate Natural Egg?

Robby, had it been me at the store I would have said "Ok I'll get the head of garlic for you", went to the produce isle, purchased one head of garlic, and then brought the guy that head and said, "Here it is sir".

So Robby,
I may have missed it on another post, but did the eggplant parmesan induce a little boy or little girl?

heh, yeah, the Eggplant induced the birth! I had heard this, we tried it. She had 1 week to go, and it sure kicked her in to labor!

Labonte, let me get this straight, are you offering to give me head? hehehe

Well Robby with a pound and a half of garlic you ought to be able to induce just about anything, but are you sure that much garlic is ok for the baby?

I've been to Publix when traveling in Florida. Publix is a nice store. It's very clean and has a nice selection of items. They also hire handicapped people, which is nice, especially for those of us who are less fortunate. Congrats to you on the birth of your son.

Now if you were shopping at SAM'S Club... I might of been able to believe~ a pound and a half of garlic. Man! that's alot of garlic.

Tsk tsk. The old pound-and-a-half of garlic scam! I am surprised the geezer knew about it. God bless him! Kroger is saved from bankruptcy!

heh, it's the principal or is it le? I always confuse that one. The garlic is immaterial. What's important is customer service. Regardless of the product, vendor, etc... People buy from people and places they like and respect.

I can't imagine ever having a problem with a CAO product. All mine have been perfect everytime. My favorite cigar, of course I haven't tried my 5 pack of Bucaneros yet.

Robby...That's why I'm HERE!!!!

Customer service is the hardest thing to get nowadays. Everyone is in a big hurry to hack and slash for corporate profits that they forget what put 'em on the map to begin with! Reaping and sowing, my man! The "good ones" never forget it, and the "bad ones" go out of business!

How'd I do Trish? Good enough for the 5-pack? Let me know if it doesn't meet the standards....

LMAO!
