In their latest bulletin, the US Post Office has LIFTED the ban on sending tobacco products to almost all Military APO addresses. A recent interaction with CAYMAN2B helped generate an idea. How about examining your humidors and finding a stick or 2 to share with one of our Armed Force Members now deployed in harm's way. If you want some names and addresses - email me and I will be happy to send these to you.

There is a great guy who immediately comes to mind who is in charge of a Special Forces (Green Beret) unit in Afghanistan - this commander and his troops are in some of the most remote fire bases in Afghanistan and have been living in the most difficult of conditions for months.
He is famous for SHARING almost everything he has with his troops (he really is a great guy) and his unit would absolutely go nuts for a good cigar. His Initials are L.W.S.

You can either ship the smokes out directly to an APO address or in conjunction with several Scouting activities going on here in North West NJ - you could send the smokes here and they will be included in shipments the Scouts send overseas.

I assure you this posting is not a joke - for further details or questions - you can get me at

PS, this is my daughters boyfriend who was in the Marine reserves, got out, and five days before his classes at Temple University were to start, got re-called.

my sources are telling me as recently as this morning that it has NOT been lifted ...

If there are any other U.S. Navy vets. out there, maybe several of us could split the cost of a box of American Pride- U.S. Navy cigars and have CI/CB ship 'em to a warship in the gulf. Just an idea. Army, Air Force, and Marine Vets might want to do something similar.

2 bombs in the mail...

One to QBALL's PFC Oleski and one to DOCRKS' CPT. Schanno.

I'll post pics of the bomb...I certainly hope that not ALL of them are dogrockets! LOL!

I think that we need to DIVIDE up the names better. I chose the 3rd one down out of 4 on docrks' list.

Spread the love and the leaf 'round!

Marla, Thanks for all of the help and support on this. I hope the fantastic initial response from so many will continue to spread - literally all over the world. You may be interested to know I just got an e-mail from a MARINE Pilot who is hoping to be included on this distro. He also sent me a GREAT PHOTO taken of him while flying his fighterjet over hostile ground with that beautiful MC on the plane's tail. If you want, I'll send it to you via email.

Jreddoch. I'm a Navy vet. Sonar Tech on Fast Attack subs in the early '70's. Son in the Navy now. I'll put in on a box. How do we do this? Son was in the Persian Gulf in on 9/11 and is now probably off N Korea. Last I talk to him he was in Japan about a week ago. His frigate, the USS Ingraham, is part of the Carl Vinson battle group.

Man, I just feel like singin'...

You're a grand old flag, though you're torn to a rag,
And forever in peace may you wave.

(Well, at least in peace after our GI's kick some desert ass!)

You're the emblem of the land I love,
The home of the free and the brave.

Every heart beats true under red, white and blue.
Where there's never a boast or brag;

"But should auld acquaintance be forgot,"

Keep your eye on the grand old flag.

Ahhhhhh....just smoked one of my new Havana Royales...not too terribly bad, not too terribly great...I just have a great feeling from all of this gratitude going around...

Let's keep it up!

BTW, here is a list of all US Navy and Marine forces FPO addresses. Just click on AE, AP, or AA and look for the ships which are usually almost at the bottom. Most of the squadrons listed will be detached to ships. Your best bet is to address the packages to:
ATTN: Command Master Chief
Commanding Officer
USS XXXXX
FPO, XX #####-####
Be sure to place a little letter in there asking him/her to hand out the cigars to some of the recognized sailors for that month/quarter (whatever you wish). In order to prevent packages from being returned you may want to look for that ship's homepage (if you need help e-mail me [email protected]) and you can find the CMC's e-mail address and let him know a "care" package is coming.

Can't Believe it has only been 4 days since this posting hit - over 80 emails received - not all about cigars, but sticks for the military was the overwhelming theme.
Thank You to all who have taken the time to write and send something to our Men and Women in the US Armed Forces. That is truly one of the strongest ways of telling them Thank-You and assuring them again just how much they are ALL appreciated.
God Bless All Our Armed Forces - May They Return Home Safely and Swiftly - Completing Their Mission for Our Nation's Defense and Making this world a safer place to live..........
