Let's see....the blue berets were in Bosnia. They have been in Africa. Was that Somalia? Do conflicts count? Remember, the UN didn't exist until after WWII. However the UN didn't ENDORSE either of the actions I mentioned at their inception. I guess it is the UN's responsibility to prevent war through objective compromise and not to endorse conflict. The UN has effectively been spat on by Saddam though. I will say 0 also.

Well, I had to work late, so I didnt make the 6pm answer time. Oh well, here is the answer though. Only three conflicts have been approved.

Here they are:

#1. 27 June, 1950 Security Council, acting in the absence of the Soviet Union, calls on Member States to help southern part of Korea repel invasion from the north. The Korean Armistice Agreement is signed on 27 July 1953 by the UN Command and the Chinese-North Korean Command.

#2. 7 November, 1956 First Emergency Special Session of the General Assembly meets on the Suez Canal crisis and, on 5 November, decides to establish the first UN peace-keeping force- the UN Emergency Force (UNEF).

#3. 4 March, 1964 Security Council approves dispatch of peacekeeping force to Cyprus.

Thats It! Why are we wasting our time, waiting for the UN to approve what we know must be done? Pigs will fly before it happens.

An interesting note: The term "weapons of mass destruction" isnt a new one. In fact its pretty old. Here is a UN note on the matter.

24 January, 1946 General Assembly adopts its first resolution. Its main focus: peaceful uses of atomic energy and the elimination of atomic and other weapons of mass destruction.

Mag... you mean to tell me that the U.N. is only now getting to issues from 1965.... that means that they 38 years of history just to get to current events... I sure hope that they don't move too fast and make some rash decisions.... LMAO!!
