I am just finishing up this this book and it is the single best piece of work on the Arab world and our relationship with it that I have yet read. Friedman is not some leftist, anti-American journalist, he is very patriotic and pro-American. He's not afraid to place the blame where it belongs, with bin Laden, corrupt Arab dictators, and the mullahs. He is also not afraid to point out the things we have done wrong as well as those we've done right.

I recommend this book to the thoughtful ones of you who aren't afraid to have some of their assumptions challenged. there is a lot of wisdom and insightful analysis here.

I agree his book is a brilliant piece of work. He has the clearest vision of our position in the world of anyone I can think of. Only wish W. had consulted him before getting the bit in his teeth. LG

Thanks for the review. I've seen the book in the store and it looked interesting.
