You'll actually be what is called a "triple dipper" No, it doesn't mean three time a night.... Sense as a cop you will be paying into Social Security plus a separate program (maybe Fidelity of New York Life), you will be building a third retirement income. And you can probably retire much earlier than 58 with full income. My son works for the prison system and they can pay into their retirement fund and take years off of the time they need to retire early.
