I am not a regular Fuente smoker. I was recently gifted a long dark and lovely cigar by Fuente. All the labels I have seen say Gran Reserva. So that is no help to me. I have a Hemingway which is black below the label. This one is green. Measures about 7"to 71/2" and is about a 48 ring. What is this fabulous looking smoke?

I would guess it's the Churchill in natural unless it's the maduro. Is the wrapper dark or natural. My .01.

Or it could be a double chateau in natural. Is it wrapped in cedar?

Long dark and lovely. Emphasis on dark. I found out it is an 858 Sungrown. I will smoke it Sunday and comment. I think this cigar deserves a comment. It is glistening with oils and reflects light as if tiny diamonds are embedded along it's length. In a word:luscious!

The 858SG is a fabulous smoke. And I keep reading that it is coming to the end of the line and will cease to be produced. Don't know if that is true but it would be a loss. Enjoy it.

Oh Schnikies, if that's one I gave you, and it doesn't have a black band at the foot, you said it has green on the label? Then it's not a sun-groan. The SGs definitely have a cedar blanket and a black toe. Does it say Flor Fina 858? may just be a Fuente Maduro 858. I can't remember what I sent :-) Let us know your thoughts!

My experiences with AF line...
Green Label is good
Black Label is Excellent
White Label - like in the Anejo = The stuff dreams are made of.

Yeah, I REALLY love my Fuentes. The other day, my wife was saying, "honey! your Fuentes have plume all over them!" I said, no hun, that's not plume... It's ok to love your cigars, just don't "love" your cigars...

Yeah, thanks Robby! It doesn't say anything other than the usual Gran Reserva. Definately green below that. I thought that it's dark for a sun grown, but I don't know Fuentes. So it's a maduro. I like those too! Just wanted to know for the write up later. Mmmmmmm maduro!

xrundog --- go here to check out most of the Fuente lines of cigars. Point your mouse cursor on the cigar, and it will tell you what it is.

For those who may get their 'panties in a bunch', this is the official Fuente website ... and they do not sell from it.

Also, they do not list their specialty or limited production cigars (i.e. BTL, UTS etc.)

Thanks Slim. Knowing what I know now, it appears to be a standard churchill in maduro. From it's appearance though, there is nothing standard about it!

I just finished smoking this beauty! I guess I understand Fuente fans better now. It started out sweet and nutty. I thought: well, this is nice. I was not impressed though. Seemed like a good Domonican. After the halfway point, the strength increased. A little more complexity manifested itself. Very nice indeed! By the last quarter, I was really enjoying it! No harshness or bitterness at all. It was creamier and very smooth. I smoked it until each puff put my moustache in jeopardy! Thanks Robby! The Ploomidor rules! Gotta get me some!
