I got a few of these in a trade. They're not bad. But they seem a little on the mild side for me. Again, not a bad smoke, but they're not cheap, and their writeup sounds like a love fest. The one I had tonight was a big churchill in a glass tube. It has some brown wax to seal the end. It was good, but a bit mild. I'm curious how you feel about them.

Some people here rave about them. I am not one. I think they're an average smoke. Not a bad smoke, just not a good one,JMO. X

The recent generation of Gurkhas are made by the Toranos. I find the Master Select line to be an excellent Torano made cigar, of equal quality to the Torano made CAOs.

There are some older Gurkhas around that are just average, but at some elevated prices.

I was gifted one of the Robustos and smoked that the other night. You are right in that it was a mild cigar, great for a morning or afternoon smoke. It had the best ash that I've ever seen and one of the most consistent cigars that I've smoked as well.

All in all, a good cigar. It would not be my first choice, but not my last either. Now, I just won a 10 pack here of a different line and will let you know what I think of that when I receive them next week.

The one you had is from the Louis XIII line. The tobacco is "infused" with Louie XIII cognac. I think the brown wax is infused once. There is different color wax seals based on the amount of cognac used. They have gold wax(infused 2 x's) and silver wax (infused 3 x's). There is also the Royal Salute line that has a pruple wax seal. It is infused 3x's but also has a little different blend.

I enjoy smoking these cigars, but they are a little costly. They do tend to be mild to medium. Besides some occasional Acids, these are the only "flavored" cigars that I smoke. I like the cognac cured tobacco. I have them (several silver and some RS)in a Jar. When I open it, I almost get drunk from the smell on Cognac... LOL

Just my 2ยข... well maybe 4...
