Yesterday ... I found a couple of Perdomo Estate Seleccion Monstro in one of my humidors that I forgot were there. They had been aging for over two years, and could even be going on three.

I fired it up, and could not believe how much this cigar had mellowed over the years. The blend of ligero leaves seemed to have a successful marriage When I first got them, I smoked many, and each time they almost knocked me out.

Now ... I couldn't believe how smooth and complex it had become. I could taste components and flavors that I hadne't noticed before. And, this time, it didn'tthrow me for a loop!

This is a true testiment to what proper aging can do for a cigar. It developed beautifully into a much better and mellower cigar (better meaning that it lost it's overpowering 'kick', and developed wonderful flavors), and was one truly enjoyable experience.

The only problem I had with it, is I negelected that particular humidor for some reason, and the humidity level was way down. The wrapper on these are very thin and delicate, and because it was a little too dry, it began to 'crack and peel' a bit. Even when I first lit it up ... I thought it was going to explode on me ...

And that, is another testimonial to keeping them properly humidified ... fortunately, I was able to finish it without too many corrections.

Carbon dating would be the only to tell you how long to age those.
