It seems that Peter Arnett, leftist cheerleader for the Iraqi Army and Terrorist, has been terminated by MSNBC, NBC and National Geographic for his Anti American sentiments on Iraqi TV. Way to go Pete, you were looking to top "Live from Baghdad" and now maybe you will.
Now he can cheer for the "heroic Iraqi Army" as they shoot women and children in the back while forcing them to be "human shields". We have a bunch of protestors we could send over there to be human shields for the brave Iraqi "Army" and terror squads.

In 1999 Arnett left CNN under a cloud after delivering a report that U.S. forces used nerve gas on U.S. defectors during the Vietnam War. The story, dubbed Tailwind, was later determined to be untrue. Arnett defended himself by saying that he was only the story's narrator, rather than the reporter behind the story.

Now that he no longer works the NBC/MSNBC, will he have to find his own way home? :-)
What he did was treasonous. Leave him there.
Poor baby was on TV this morning all teary eyed and appologetic.
Give him a Burka and leave him in Baghdad.

There are things in this world you just don't do and there are lines that you just don't cross - and no matter how teary eyed and sorry you are after the fact - once you cross one of "those" lines - you deserve all of the bad things that are coming to you because of your actions.
One of those lines is giving comfort and aid to the ENEMY - especially in a time of war !! Arnett knew anything he said would be used by the propaganda machine of the enemy we are fighting. He compounded this 1st blunder of going on Iraqi TV by telling his Iraqi counterpart that it is obvious that the US War Plans have not worked and this failure has lead to the rise of many protesters in this country. Well you can imagine the mileage the Iraqi propaganda machine will get woth these quotes.
That is crossing the line to the point of No Return. Too late to be sorry and contrite and appear sincere. There are consequences to one's actions - and P.A. committed these acts of his own free will. He is deserving of all the misery that comes his way.
His actions were reprehensible, vile, repugnant and sadly un-patriotic - this to a country he embraced by becoming a citizen 25 years ago.
God Bless All Our Troops !!! HOOAH !!!!

I heard today that Arnett is actually a citizen of New Zealand. If that's true, his words on Iragi TV are not treason, just outside the definition of "journalist."

Apparently some Senator during the first Iraqi conflict called Arnett an "Iraqi sympathizer." When called on it, he later apologized and said, "I shouldn't have said sympathizer. I should have said dupe or puppet."

Peter Arnett is definitely a citizen of the USA. He confirmed it again during yesterday's teary goodbye to Matt Lauer on the TODAY show - that was one of his "proofs" of love of the USA - the fact that he took US Citizenship 25 years ago.
Hey Peter - your 15 minutes of fame lasted a lot longer then most - but the clock has definitely run down to zero for you - goodbye...

Trying to get a little bit more fame, (the only US reporter to interview on Iraqi TV during the war), what an idiot.

From all accounts, Arnett's new employer, Daily Mirror, is cut from the same filthy rag as the Inquirer. What's next for him; "Crop Circles in the English Countryside? ....as his round, insipid, little head sinks slowly into obscurity.

It's a problem with most of the press these days. They would rather be the story then report the story.
