This cigar is the 5th in a series of 10 mystery smokes provided my bro o da leaf: penguin13

#5 is a very well constructed 5x52 robusto. Reddish brown wrapper, small straight veins in the wrapper. Good bunch. Prelight aroma was a somewhat spicy.

Toasted the foot and after the fire storm subsided a cloud of smoke filled my back patio. Very good draw and lots of smoke. White ash a little on the gray side. This one really opened up after about an inch into it. Medium bodied with a spicy wood flavor that pretty much stayed that way throughout. Medium building to Medium+ to the nub.

Never had to take the torch to this one after lighting. #5 reminded me a lot of the Don Tomas Corojo Robusto. So much in fact, I would say that's what it is but I just didn't get enough of the Corojo flavor to cement my decision. But it's damn close...

On a scale of 1-10 penguins, #5 rates a very solid 6.5 penguins?

Is it the DT corojo robusto?

Now, I wouldn't give you back a cigar that you sent me...would I :) I know for a fact it wasn't the DT. And, as history repeats itself, I'm at work and have know idea what smoke that was. I think it was one that was given to me in a shipment by a very generous person here. I'll let everyone know, who's interested, tonight.

Now I didn't say that I like your warped sense of humor, I was just pointing it out for everyone here!

However, since this is something I can see myself doing I guess you could say that I appreciate your warped sense of humor.

No No, I'm just kiddong about the email. Everyone will get to see what smoke I sent you. Like I said before, It's just a great way to get an honest review. Plus, what does it say about me if I have these smokes :)

Ok I'm home. Low, I just put the list in my wallet ;) I was wrong about this being the one that was given to me. The one you just smoked was none other than.....a Don Douglas Tambor. Yep, the same ones that are on blowout right now. The one I gave you has about 7 months on it (and they needed it) I won the auction for $7 for a bundle of 25. It was the best seven bucks I ever spent on cigars. I didn't give you anyting that I myself don't enjoy smoking. Except for one. I did give you one that i can't stand but EVERYONE else raves about it. It's time to get a real review on that one:) Keep it coming!

I thought it would be strange that you would include the DT, but yet although I kept wanting it to be the DT, nothing added up. Like the wrapper aroma and taste--it just wasn't the corojo. The construction was really damn good for a stick of that price as was the draw, burn, and volume of smoke. Lower end of the medium spectrum that was good enough to take it to the end. Really got me there penguin13! So far, the sleeper of the bunch. #6 coming up.

Nice, a cheap stick that I haven't tried with a solid review. Time to pick one up.

We're halfway JD and with it being the weekend you can probably dig deep and polish the remainder off. Looking forward to the rest.

Wow! 6.5 for a mixed filler stick. What does Double D put in there?
