Sorry ... but I just had to say this. I stayed away from Lars Tetens because of all the negative posts I read on this board. I even cancelled an order I had placed because of them. Then, I had the good fortune to do a trade for a sampling of them (a couple of 'Shorties' and a 'Star of Cuba'), and I couldn't believe what all the negative fuss was about. I won't go on about it, but the 'Star of Cuba' was absolutely wonderful. I could barely smell or taste the 'perfumed oils' when I smoked it (except for a slight pleasant aftertaste), and my wife didn't complain (for the first time) of a stinky cigar smell. One of the better cigars I've smoked in a long time (not including Cubans) as I could barely put it down. I smoked it 'til it burned my fingers, with no harshness whatsoever ... even with an occasional inhale! No need to respond to this post ... just making a point. I don't want to get 'flamed' for bringing this up, I just wanted everyone to know that opinions are just opinions ...

I dson't feel you're "resurrecting the dead horse" by posting your opinion on Lars...Glad to see you found a new cigar that you enjoy...It's always great to discover a new enjoyable smoke, especially when the price is right!

I smoked Lars Tetens exclusively for years. They are a great cigar. Especially the Shorty. I no longer smoke them. I've had some unresolved problems with the company. So I've decided that they won't see another dime of my money. I do miss smoking them, but I'm stubborn.

I won a 5 pack of Lars "Evolving" about six months ago. Found them to be nice smokes.

I joke about the Lars, but I have nothing really against them, I just won't give them a home in my cedar-lined humidors. They live in an acrylic cigar jar because of the smell of patchouli. No I don't taste the patchouli when I smoke them, yes they are wondefully constructed and yes, they smoke great. However, I've outgrown the taste because it's so mild. If anyone is interested in buying the remainder of my Lars off me, email me at [email protected] and make me an offer. I have 2 Asadachi, 4 Seizan, 4 Sun Fook Ka and 2 Big Tone left. They have aged for at least 6 months. If you buy all of them, I'll include the cigar jar for really cheap. Let me know, email me.

OK, we've heard from the closet Lars fans. Now where are the closet Acid fans? I've yet to try an Acid based half on the fact that I don't like "gimmicks" and half on the previous responses on this board. My thoughts on the one Lars I've smoked: Good smoke, overpriced. And ain't if funny how ya don't taste the perfume?

To manage expectations, I have no intentions on beating this dead horse. I do not want that foul stench to come anywhere near my bat. Glad to too see SlimJim had a pair and threw his post out there. I think it's all blasphamy..but hey....whoever takes my thoughts/me seriously should see a doctor.
