Ahhh, so there were no shortages in the Clinton military? No Ammo shortages? No broken down ships and planes in need of spare parts? He didn't launch every cruise missile we had because he didn't want to commit to any real strategy which might involve an exchange of fire?

Maybe we need perspective from some of the military folks here. I haven't served, and I'd be willing to bet more than a few bux you haven't either... I'm curious as to what Hog or Tar would think on this subject? Or our other military vets. I could be off base. Any recent or current vets with perspective here?

And if you think I fixate on demonizing Clinton by pointing out his debacles, perhaps you’re a Clinton apologist? Fixated on overlooking and ignoring anything and everything?

Very interested in perspective from recent or current vets on this subject.

"""ahhh, so there were no shortages in the Clinton military? No Ammo shortages? No broken down ships and planes in need of spare parts?"""

Why buy bullets your not likely to use in the near future or parts for ships and planes your likely to replace? The military of today appears pretty @%&# happy with all the high tech weapons the've been using in Afghanistan and Iraq. Many feel that that very same technology saved a lot of our soldier's lives. I guess you would prefer that they slug it out with the hard way. (And I thought you were for our troops.)
Now I ask you, Can you name a single instance where a US serviceman/woman was killed or wounded due to a shortage of bullets during the Clinton adminastration?

"""He didn't launch every cruise missile we had because he didn't want to commit to any real strategy which might involve an exchange of fire? """"

Why put servicemen in harms way why either diplomacy or a remote shot across the bow may suffice?

"""Maybe we need perspective from some of the military folks here."""

Anecdotal evidence won't cut it as facts.

"""I haven't served, and I'd be willing to bet more than a few bux you haven't either.."""

True, and neither fact has any bearing on the debate at hand.

"""I'm curious as to what Hog or Tar would think on this subject? Or our other military vets. I could be off base. Any recent or current vets with perspective here? """

With all due respect to Both Tar and Hog, it's already pretty clear what their general stance is on Clinton. It takes unbiased facts to sway my opinion.

"""And if you think I fixate on demonizing Clinton by pointing out his debacles, perhaps you’re a Clinton apologist? Fixated on overlooking and ignoring anything and everything?"""

Nope, just looking at the facts with an open mind. (Are you an apologist for Reagan and Bush? They too cut the military budget.)

"""Very interested in perspective from recent or current vets on this subject. """

Or anyone with an unbiased view on the subject.

Interesting, I was looking for Military perspective since it would seem to be unique and well qualified on this issue.

Sounds like you may fear the opinions of our brothers of the leaf in uniform? Now why would that be? What perspective might they have that could possible cause you any concern? Surely if they're smart, and they've witnessed first hand what the different administrations have done for/to the military, they will most certainly agree with you, right? Relax! It's in the bag! Looking for some military perspective...

Yeeouwch. This thread seems to have taken a huge turn mid 4/10 --- not a left, nor a right, but rather, a WRONG turn.
