I sat and watched Fox News most of the day today, being it was my day off work. I watched with great pride as the citizens of Iraq tore down pictures and statues of Saddam. The feeling of freedom must have rushed over them after so many years of fear. They would have never spoken up before because the price was to high. To see old men, young children and people of all ages in between having the freedom to speak out. Even the Ambassador from Iraq to the United Nation said it was over, the minister of information took the day off, I'm sure it had to do with his office being taken over by U.S. Troops. It reminds me of a line from Macbeth. At the end of the last act Macbeth faces Macduff and proclaims "Lay on Macduff and Damned be he who first cries hold enough". It is time for the leadership of Iraq or what is left to say "hold enough". I know there is still the town of Takrit to take and this war is not over but as the old saying goes "the fat lady ain't sung yet but if you listen good you can hear her warming up".
God Bless America

We're all watching history. This is a momentous occasion. I'm curious to know the reaction to the recent events by some of the dissenting voices on the war. Has the rapid success and unquestionable appreciation of the Iraqi people, people who were brutalized by this madman and his regime for so long, have these factors affected your perspective?

Robby the question should read their opinions not your opinion. I have never been against the this war I have several friends over there and have never questioned the need for military action. I realize you ment to sat "their" so I will just agree with you.

I have been onboard with the current action once things were decided and underway. I voiced some dissenting opinions before that. I do believe evil bastards must be stopped from perpetuating their evil plans. We have lost over 100 soldiers if the last count I saw is correct. That damn near brings me to tears. Was it worth it? That remains to be seen. I sure as hell hope so!!!!!

Dog, you need to put this into perspective. No country has ever taken over this much land, in this short of time, with this few of casualties in history.

This country was supposed to be the "bully" of the middle east. We just gave them an ass kicking that will never be forgotten.

The people are coming out now and dancing in the streets, and you dont know if it was worth it? These people saw over 1.5 million of thier family and friends get killed in the last 10 yrs. IT WAS WORTH IT!!!

Instead of still having that bit of distrust, why arent you congratulating the Troops and the Bush administration for pulling off such an amazing feat!

Thanks to all of our troops for their bravery, commitment and honor which they have shown the world.

Also to this administration, for having the guts to do whats right. George W Bush, IS THE MAN !!!

You misunderatnd me. Not talking about distrust or motives or any of that stuff. Talking about 100 dead men and women. That just makes me sad. I agree with you about the Iraqi dead. Yup, yup and yup. Like I said, I'm onboard. Can't get happy about it though.

It was Great to see these People Feeling Freedom for the first time in Decades... it was also neat to see those Kids who were released from a Prison. Over 100 of them and some had been locked away for more then 5 yrs.. reunited with their Family's... This is Far from Over... setting up the new government and maintaining a presence there until things are stable will be at least 2 yrs down the road...

X I understand your concern of our 100 lost... but even myself would be over there if they would have called on me... I posted about the old man who was beatin by those kids on another post... but what makes that any different then these Terrorists that on sept 11 2001 and the 3000+ they took out? think for a minute about those 3000+ because every soldier in the field today would be...

Also in 17 Days the United States of America was in Baghdad knocking on Saddam's Door... Iraq even after Gulf War1 "HAD" the Largest Army in that Region....

I said it before and I'll Say it Again... this War/Conflict is just another stepping Stone on the War on Terror!!!!! but all these other Country's who are Harboring Terrorists got to see what will happen to them because we Have a President in Office who wont sit down and Take it in the Shorts for Better Ratings!!!!! and an Administration to Back Him!!!!!!
in the last couple days I have seen allot of Micheal Jackson Look Alikes on the "Moon Walk" NOW the UN wants a part of this.... North Korea has toned down just a bit.. China stepped up and shut off Oil to N. Korea to help Stabelize something there thats a Hair Trigger between them and US...

I think these Events Happening Now are Great!!! Something I have been wanting to see for many Years now!!!!

as for Our Soldiers that were lost during this Mission... God Bless Them and Prayers go out to Their Families!!!! without them this Mission could not be completed like it soon will Be!!!!!
