Had the usual Tuesday night dinner at the parent's house in Kent Cliffs, NY tonight. They don't allow smoking of any kind in the house, so we have to smoke outside there. I wanted to try out a Fat Cat Toro I won here last week, so I venture outside. (btw, not a bad stick) Boy oh boY! did we skip Fall this year?! It was freakin' freezing out there! I fortunately get to smoke inside, anywhere I want in my place (the future missus loves the smell!), but I feel so bad for you guys that have to smoke outside. That's gotta suck to have those freezing fingers all winter long! Just had to express my sympathy for you troopers that must restrict yourself to small ring gauged and short sticks in the cold months (disclaimer: sympathy not valid in the southern states ;)

Being from a state that one week you have your AC on and the next week your cranking up the heater, I fit right in as a candidate for your sympathy. I've already got my "smoke shack" set up. Heater, radio, TV and a backyard sized fridge/freezer....depending on the weather. As much as envy your situation, it's kinda nice to retreat to that place at times.

Drive by my house after a snowfall and you'll see me shoveling my driveway while puffing away. Sometimes the cigar gets so slobbery, I worry about it freezing.

I've been fortunate enough to recently buy a new house with an unfinished room over the garage. I'm about 90% complete with the construction (including a built-in air filtration system). It's complete with cable TV and phone hookups so I'm all set for the upcoming cold weather. I've been breaking it in while I've been working and it's been working out pretty good. I smoked a CAO millenium in there last night while I was painting the door casing and finishing out the window. It was a bit of a hard draw at first so I cut a little more of the end and it was just perfect. A really good smoke, but probably not worth the asking price. I've got one left. Maybe I'll keep it for another year and see how it ages. I've been aging a couple of Fuente Hemingway Masterpieces (9x52)for awhile and I think I'm going to have to try one this weekend. I work a little slower while I'm smoking but I enjoy it a whole lot more.

No, I'm not that far north. I live in Yorktown, VA. Hopefully we'll have a few more mild days before I have to move all of my smoking indoors.

Yeah-here in West Central Florida(Clearwater), I've had to start wearing a shirt when I sit out by the pool on the back porch! I know the long-sleeved t-shirt and long pants are only a few months away! I just hate this time of year!
