Hey all,
I've been on a cameroon wrapper kick for the past few weeks and would like to get into trying a few sungrowns. Any suggestions on cigar brands besides the obvious, Fuente/Ashton?

Occidental SG`s are pretty good! IMHO. You can pick em up on Cbid or CI

The Chatea Fuentes are a good bet and priced right. The others mentioned are good too for getting your feet wet. I've got a sungrown jones that won't quit. Like them full-bodied though. Also, some Oliva Os, Antanos (pack a punch). 858's are undoubtedly the best and the most rare IMHO. I'm steadily seeing them disappear from all sources. Makes the rest of mine real treasures!

jd1,

I second your suggestion to try Oliva "O"s.

Kaikai - Email me your home address (egruff (at) pacbell (dot) net) and I'll send you a few to try. Once you've done "O", you'll never go back!

La Aurora/Leon Jimenes Maduros

La Luna Natural Fuerte
Punch Rare Corojo
La Flor Dominicana Ligero
Fonseca Sungrown Cedars
HdM Dark Sumatran

All worth trying.

Oliva O Maduros are the best of the sun grown for the money. Box of robustos for about 65-70 bucks.
Ashton VSG most expensive and hardest to come by.

Read Jim Reddoch's list above.

Kai,

No problem. You certainly don't have to feel obligated to reciprocate. One of the best ways to try new smokes w/o buying a box is to trade with the fine folks here on CBid. You can also look for the 5-packs.

Enjoy the "O"s!

The "O"s and the Joya de Nicks are great.... had a JDN yesterday for lunch... after my meal... if I had it before I ate I'm not sure that I would have been able to go back to work..

Try the Cuban Belicoso from Fuente. If I remember correctly, I believe they introduced these a couple of years ago along with the 858 SG. Problem was the 858 was just a "during the Holidays" release, which the Fuentes are infamous for :)
