I'm a large man. I was a large kid. I loved these damn snacks and they took them away from me. This is my way of remembering a fallen lunchtime companion.

370. Author: guyuteDate: Fri, 8/3/2007, 11:59AM EST
Thought I did this already... but I guess it was in one of the other "what does your name mean" thread. :)

"Guyute" is a character in a Phish song (one of my fave Phish songs).
An ugly pig to be precise. Who danced a jig. And is a little dangerous.

Fits me well, and has been a handle for a long long time.
371. Author: pool-cueDate: Sat, 8/4/2007, 9:33AM EST

Jameeman ...

I always wanted to be a super-Hero, and... damnit- there are so few Jewish super-heros left after "Knishman" and "Chaigirl" went into retirement and opened a Kibbutz/Alarm Clock factory. Alas, my first name, Jamey, was taken on Yahoo ... so I was forced to phonetically spell my name (also helps me remember its pronounciation)
jameeman has become my default nickname for everything.

Smoke on!

383. Author: nd2endgameDate: Wed, 8/6/2008, 11:13PM EST
In college, I took pride in the fact that I had game at both ends of the basketball court (both offense and defense), thus "end to end game." My kids tell me I now only have game at both ends of the dinner table! Guess I better get back in the gym.

389. Author: norsepiperDate: Thu, 8/7/2008, 8:25PM EST
Norse...self explanitory. Piper...I used to play bagpipes/guitar in a couple Celtic rock bands based in Dallas, TX. Once you establish a long standing email name, its kinda hard to get rid of even if its not particularly valid anymore. But then again I still play the 'pipes and my family will always be of Norse descent...

392. Author: UnreasonableExpectationsDate: Fri, 8/8/2008, 11:18AM EST
Mine came up 4 or 5 years ago. I went through a period over several days where I had to make a series of customer service calls. These were nationally known American companies and manufacturers, and EVERY D*MN TIME I ended up talking to someone in India or Pakistan or some other God-forsaken backwater place where they could barely speak English. I got so frustrated after awhile that finally I slammed down the phone and yelled "IS IT SO UNREASONABLE TO EXPECT TO TALK TO A CUSTOMER SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE WHO CAN ACTUALLY SPEAK ENGLISH!?!"

Probuilt:

When I became a firefighter it was for pennies and a pension. Needing sustenance and electricity I began a co-career as a home builder. I had mucho construction experience, there were three other builders in the department to mentor me, and Florida was beginning a record boom in home construction.

I have burned and built homes for twenty five years.

I also had a home building web site that I promoted my business with and informed people about code changes and building techniques. I quit building in 2001 and I quite remodeling in 2005, so I just got the gravy, none of the pain. Lucky Me!

HomeStartsHere.com
Probuilt became my moniker for all communication and I just use it out of habit.
