Roger Ridley(RIP) was a street performer in Santa Monica CA. Man had more soul in his pinky nail than most ever have. His performance of "Tears On My Pillow" was captured on video one day and uploaded to the web. It got so many hits that this lead to the creation of the group "Playing For Change". You've most likely seen their videos which feature artists from all over the world performing different songs. They are remarkable videos that started because of one remarkable man. I would STRONGLY suggest anyone to google search Roger Ridley - Tear On My Pillow/You Send Me. It brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it

Pretty damn good Sunday morning Playlist

I could never handle city life.

I'm sitting on my back deck listening to the leaves falling and blowing around. Occasional squawks from the chickens, and an occasional "ping" when I hit one of the steel targets hanging from the trees in the woods with my Henry rifle. Occasional car driving by. Will pick up more when the church let's out.

If/when I move, I want a river or creek running through the property. And ideally off a dead end road or a driveway long enough to not hear any cars

The Guitar Trio - Paco de Lucia, Al DiMeola, John McLaughlin

I’m sure I haven’t listened to this since, maybe...ever. Loved “Friday Night in San Francisco” but after their follow-up, “Passion, Grace and Fire”, the long gap between recordings made me forget about them. Plus, I was really deep into my Hawaiian phase at the time so pretty sure I don’t have a copy of this in my collection.

Hard to fully appreciate the remix through the iPad, may have to listen to it with headphones or goodness gracious, buy the CD and play it on my stereo equipment once I get it back home.

The Monkees - self-titled first album

Yes, The Monkees. Davy Jones, Michael Nesmith, Peter Tork and Mickey Dolenz. No particular reason, just thought it’d be fun to listen to the first LP I ever owned. My parents bought a portable stereo player (...detachable speakers, fold-down turntable...) and they let me pick out a couple of albums. I think the other album was “More of The Monkees” but for some reason, I can only clearly remember the 1st album. But we are talking 50+ years ago so probably lost that memory cell due to later “youthful activities”.

80F / 71% RH / 8 mph - still warm and humid today, cooler now with a very light and brief sprinkle a few minutes ago

Before you white it out (...I caught the Michael Nesmith reference - very clever of youse...), I think I mis-remembered something in my post. Upon further review, it was my older brother that bought me the stereo. A few years later he bought a Sony HP-610 compact stereo system for me, my initial entry into “real” stereo equipment. I don’t think I ever played that Monkees album on the Sony.
