What Gin or Vodka Ya Drinking 10,000?
1. Author: PalamaDate: Mon, 12/5/2016, 10:50PM EST
Since there isn't a gin or a vodka thread, thought I'd start one up for those that like them. I don't drink much of either but made a gin & tonic for the Mrs. and myself while we wait for dinner time.

1 - Sipsmith with Schweppes tonic water, two lime wedges for wifey, one for me. Added some chopped up mint leaves too.

Gave up the potato diet long ago, and after many gallons of Vox and Ketel One.
Always on the rocks with a splash of club soda and a lime.

Tito's vodka.........because Wheel recommended it.
And I can get it cheap at the local B&M
7. Author: Burner02Date: Tue, 12/6/2016, 9:54AM EST
Ketel One, Absolute, or even Stolichnaya. Really depends which one is on sale that day at the Class Six.

Konan, have you tried Seagram's tonic water? It seems to be less bitter than the other brands to include Schweppes.

2 - Belvedere (rocks, twist)
3 - Tito's (also rocks, twist)

Both over the weekend

Dripping Springs is better, IMO

Wheel called Titos "swill"!

Re: tonic, though I do often buy Schweppes and Canada Dry, I find Fever Tree infinitely better and much "healthier".

I'm sure it is but not available in these parts.
Other than bourbon, not much of a selection in the state-controlled stores.

as much as I like Hendricks, I just can't like it with lime. It just has so much cucumber essence that I usually use a slice of cuke, or nothing.

Sipsmith G&T

It's the only bottle of gin we have but been wanting to try the Hendricks...or at least to get a bottle for my wife to try.

Burnetts gin, Segrams tonic water, and a slice of lime.

And Mikey certainly did...... got home last night to a crater in the driveway and the Mrs. holding the charred package remains. Got hit with a bottle of Dripping Springs and a glorious fiver of angels guarding the box on its journey.
Thank you so much Sir.
Christmas Day menu is changing to include Dripping Springs.

Now I just need to figure out how to say "thank you" properly. Think

I'm telling ya dude, float a slice of cucumber in a chilled pour and call it a martini. No olives, it has cucumber essence in it already. Hendricks does not need tonic.

Hendricks is next on the To-Buy list. I don't know if my wife will drink it straight up but I'll tell her a wicked smaht fella suggested she try it that way.
35. Author: frankj1Date: Fri, 1/6/2017, 10:30PM EST
she can martini it with a couple drips of vermouth, I really do suggest cucumber over olives if she wants something to crunch while drinking it. Hendricks seems to have a very pronounced natural cucumber essence.

I happen to love gin/vodka and tonic, but I prefer slightly rougher gins and vodkas in them. Uber gins and vodkas just seem to get muted by mixers...for me. Try Fever Tree tonic if you can find it.

and Mattie B, if you are reading, that Cathead Vodka and Bristow Gin are outstanding.

Friend said to dice up the cucumber when we try the Hendricks.

Bought Fever Tree with the first bottle of gin (...Botantist...), but being newbs, can't say we knew how good it was.

Clear alcohol is for bored white women with eating disorders.

I'd give the edge to vodka, but it all tastes the same to me.

cleaner product, less sugar, real quinine (hence fever tree name)...

I like the idea to dice the cuke, thanks.
