ah, i see a misunderstanding in post #2.
I meant Trump's demeanor and words were meeker than when Obama showed respect with a bow (not that Trump bowed)...and has been torn apart here ever since!
Oh, and he also got torn apart for not saying "Islamic Terrorist/ism" by Trump and supporters here. Guess what other term Trump backed away from?
All that said, I want him or any sitting president to get those nations involved in reeling in their deadly, dangerous, murderous barbarian strays.

Actually, Trump did say "Islamic Extremists" several times. Much to the dismay of some Muslims and to the giddy joy of a liberal press. Seems he should have said "Islamist" extremists so as not to ruffle feathers. Either way, he was pretty direct with his intent. It doesn't take a genius to figure out where he was pointing fingers. It was indeed a stark contrast to our previous POTUS. For good or bad we probably won't know for some time. Frank, you seem very fixated on finding discrepancies rather than dealing with the overall context. The Twitter king is doing things and instead of focusing on policy we're bring up script from last years debates and comparing bullet points. If that's what you want, then you win. That's right. Our sitting president isn't following his campaign promises to the letter. Oh. The horror. Not sure what this will do to the American psyche because this is obviously the first time this has ever happened... |

"Trump's budget breaks these 7 campaign promises".
Not anything about whether the budget is good or bad, fair or balanced.
Nope. Just more of "look! he lied!"
It would be funny if it weren't so effective.

The administration releases a budget and instead of reviewing it and critiquing it for merit as a federal budget, a major news agency decides to compare it to cherry picked comments made during a year long campaign. But I'm the one deflecting. |

Yes you are. The subject is broken campaign promises, not the budget. You are creating a false narrative that the subject is the merit of the federal budget. Again, did he break campaign promises, this is a yes or no question. |

the question of word choice was not Islamist vs Islamic...it was dropping the word Terrorist/terrorism that follows the I word. This has been said way more recently. The words get so twisted. To be clear: Continuous leaks from where? From within the Trump administration? The whistle blowers who go to CNN but say nothing during the hearings? THOSE leaks? Is it the leaks that are creating the turmoil in DC? Or is it the constant media blitz surround this much-ado-about-nothing charade? As for the election? I love how we're shooting the messenger. Because regardless of HOW the DNC emails got hacked and released, it was the content that we should be talking about, not the vehicle by which they were delivered. And let's be honest. There was plenty of speculation that the Russians hacked Trumps camp as well. Which doesn't sound like collusion to me. And yes, it was speculative. But so is every other single piece of information that is being used as "proof". Who knew that the Russians were so adept at computer hacking that they could foil the entire US Federal government computer team for this long? Pretty impressive. If it's true. Because I'm sure it is. it must be. To have been front page for this long. It's gotta be. |
