My guess is ??? U.S. taxpayers spent $2-3 million at least on his prison room and board...not counting the trial or his appeals and parole board hearings...ADD ANOTHER
$1.5 MILLION for that and incidentals...

One .45 shell woulda been cheaper...

I guess the only "BARGAIN" was his "free home-mader swastika prison ink tat on his wacked forhead"

The only sad part about his death is that is was from natural causes... and CA taxpayers were forced to foot the bill for his existence all these years, when he should have been shot in the face after he was convicted.

The sad part is the State of California allowed him to live to begin with.

Quote:
Manson and his accomplices were allowed to live when, in 1972, the California Supreme Court invalidated the state’s death penalty statutes. As a result, the members of the family sitting on death row had their executions commuted. All were given life sentences and made eligible for parole.

Ever see the movie "Citizen X"? Mr Jones is correct. A 45 or 9mm to the head would have been cheaper. And invoice the deceased's estate for the cost of the round and burial instead of taxpayers footing the bill.

Just think, we wouldn’t be having this discussion if Kalifornia had executed him and his entire brood in the 70’s.
