The hype by the cons is that it contains info that will prove that the FBI is conducting a sham investigation because of animus against the President. The end result, according to the right, is that the investigation of the Russian interference in the elections of 2016 and the Trump campaign's possible links was biased from the beginning and thus, should be ended.

The left say it is a fabrication made up from tidbits of info in classified documents, taken out of context, omitting material and relevant details pieced together to support the President's contention that the investigation is a witch hunt and should be stopped because of institutional bias and corruption in the FBI.

The FBI and the DOJ say not so fast: the release of the memo causes grave concerns (FBI) and is extremely reckless (Trump's own DOJ).

My take. The man behind the memo is Devin Nunes, who disgraced himself last year trying to prove Trump's claim that "Obama wire-tapped Trump Tower." After that attempt was proven to be a sham, he announced that he was recusing himself from involvement in the Russian investigation being conducted by the House Intelligence committee, which he chairs. This is another misguided attempt by the President's lackey, Nunes, who seems to misunderstand the meaning of recuse, to torpedo the Russian investigation. The memo will be appropriately evaluated. I predict the outcome will be similar to the end result of Nunes' last charade.

In the meantime, the GOP, especially those elected to Congress, the self-proclaimed law and order party, the protectors of the Constitution, stand by as the President, for personal gain, guts and smears the top law enforcement agency of our nation, undermining its credibility in ways that will do lasting and unforeseen damage.

Remember the FBI is a liberal institution that is totally biased in favor of hillary other than that whole unusual announcement about opening an investigation in to her the week before an election which very well may have decided things.....

Why is it that the right pays lip service to the axiom that our law enforcement agencies (and intelligence networks) need absolute support, because they are protecting us from all the bad terrorists and criminals that threaten our people and it's democracy?

But when political expediency arises, they are quick to throw them under the bus, or overboard... this GOP strategy to undermine the credibility of the FBI is similar to the outing of Valerie Plame by the Bush/Cheney administration in the charade to justify the Irag War. Had a Dem done that, the cons woulda been screaming "treason!"

It's a memo, meh, release it or not, it will change very few minds. It isn't a factual piece of information. If it does contain information that harms our intelligence agencies. Arrest the people who released the memo and charge them with treason.
