I'm not necessarily a fan of daylight savings time... but that statement is pretty dumb.
It doesn't really take into account fixed hours vs variable daylight.

To use the poorly implemented metaphor above (which I'm sure was not actually said by an indian)... you only can use 1/3 of the blanket at any time. That usable area tends to shift. At some points that usable area shifts to the bottom of the blanket, and by moving a foot off the top and sewing it to the bottom, you can use the entire 1/3.

It's a dumb saying.
It's an outdated concept (for the most part)....

but most importantly... the irony of such a dumb statement being likely falsly attributed to an "old indian" to make it sound pithy, and put on a meme from some place like "free your mind and think" is just so very sweet.

I am arguing from a position of reason. The meme is based on a faulty premise (that every hour in the day is equal).

I am tired of seeing dumb quotes and pretend pithy sayings dressed up to sound intelligent. People paste that crap all over facebook or twitter or any other social media location and don't bother actually thinking about the statement.

We are getting dumber, each and every one of us, because we're allowing someone to feed words to us to re-distribute to others, which have no logical meaning behind them.

I can't possibly be the only one tired of seeing these types of things everywhere.

Hell, if gene had just posted a thread "I dislike daylight savings time"... I wouldn't really have a reason to disagree. It isn't really necessary any longer. But posting something that makes no sense as an argument, and pretending it's a sage saying.... that's just dumb. It doesn't make sense as a joke either, unless we're making fun of the dumb indians who think an hour in the middle of the night had just as much value as an hour in the middle of the day in the early 1900s....

Ummmm, daylight savings time shifts the time frame of daylight. So the above poster is really a WTF. Though I find no value in debating it. I wonder if it is hanging in the oval office or the living quarters?

we've been doing it like 100 years, so no old Indian ever said this.
It is quaint though.

Some Indian in Arizona took this to heart and said....."**** this DST,remember the blanket story Tonto"
20. Author: Ewok126Date: Tue, 3/13/2018, 5:40AM EST
DST brings more business to medical field with work related accidents, car accidents, heart attacks. Every year a boost in income for Big Pharma for a day or so. Also population control for 100 years.

The Injuns felt it was a conspiracy put together by the pale skins so they made the photo of Chitting Bull with his famous saying poking fun at the pale skin's mentality and making fun of their blankets. Little did the Injuns know 75 years later this would be viewed as a meme and become a racial thing.

That's my factual story and I am going on my wifes facebook and Twitter page to spread them facts around to see how many fish I can catch.

Why? Cause I am a prick and I am bored.

Indians and palefaces both have it wrong:

Cut the sides off the blanket and sew them on ends....day is longer but it goes much faster.

Cut a hole out of center and sew on end......day is longer but you have a siesta.

Get blanket wet, put it on a rack and stretch it. You have extra benefit of being taller too.

The meme is dumb, it's supposed to dumb, like the concept of getting more daylight by changing the hands/digits on a clock. It does feature a nice old photo of a Native American.

The funniest part about all this....

I was doing a few quick searches of the meme to try to figure out where it came from. I was largely unsuccessful, but found it posted in at least two native American news sites.

So likely at least one old Indian has forwarded it on to their friends, essentially making the meme true after it's creation.

Victor seems bound and determined to make a bunch of fat, old, white guys (as he is so fond of calling us) think he's smart.

It's okay, man. My resource development teacher, Mr. Saunders, told me I was destined for a job with my name on my shirt. He was right... I was in the Navy for 20 years, and with the sheriff's dept for 10. I'm just not sure he realized I'd be making well over what he made, while never going into debt for the education he had.

Keep on keepin' on, Vic.

A quaint meme.
Not based on logic, but on how (pun intended) an Indian chief might speak.
Doesn't have to make sense.
It's what the would call "cute". Or cutesy. take your pick.

Meanwhile at CBid, we have a bunch of self aggrandizing blow hards who feel compelled to ridicule the "logic". As if they're somehow smart in doing so.

You're the guy who jumped up during Forrest Gump and shouted "Just look at the back of the chocolate box to see where the caramel is!"

Technically correct.
And technically an idiot.
