Al, fantastic job with that fish! I could definitely see Macs getting his 6-pack license and taking guys out on a regular basis... think we'll get a discount?

He'd better, cuz we'd be among his best customers who could help him grow his business, and he's an astute businessman...alas, he's gonna take his talents to Miami, like the other GOAT, after he retires...

hope you can make it down to SoCal for a ride on Shawn's fishing boat...

I love fishing. I like helping others catch fish. With that said... a charter business would turn what I love doing into work.

I'm not so sure I'd like that... and I'd need a bigger boat.

though I've heard it said that if you do what you love, you'll never "work" a day in your life.

Upgraded the Vegas room from a marquis to a player's suite... figured we're already spending a ridiculous amount of money for the room, a little more can't hurt...

Now to start socking food money away... bacchanal at ceasers is supposed to be pretty good so we'll probably do that... and the sterling brunch on Sunday at ballys... all you can eat caviar and lobster tails...

I dunno.... captain brad definitely loves fishing, but that man clearly works... you've gotta have the patience of a saint to teach some people how to fish...

Gotta try to sleep short today.

Need to get firewood, go grocery shopping, mow and stuff before the day's over.

Tomorrow morning leave for another week in the camper.

Kid goes to school in 3 weeks, so might be our last trip. Or maybe we'll say it's only kindergarten and pull him out for a few days

Good thing lawnmower's got headlights. Wife went grocery shopping so at least that's done

Firewood's gonna have to be a tomorrow morning thing. Really wanna be on the road before noon for the 5-6 hour drive.

Had my truck for about 9 weeks... I have 5700 miles on it. This commute to work 47 miles away for a 12 hour shift is really starting to piss me off.

The traffic doesn't help matters.

Spoke with a peer who works my old station... and I work hers. Told her if she wanted to switch to let me know, and we could both request it.

Mint.

Couldn't imagine a 47 mile commute. I hate my 9 mile commute.

I always allow for a little over an hour's drive. With typical traffic it's 30 minutes which gives me plenty time to change, grab food if I need to before cafeteria closes, and get my paperwork sorted before I start. On the rare day it's 20 minutes. I cross 5 railroad crossings on my quickest route. A train can turn it into 50 minutes or more. The other route has 23 stoplights but has bridges over the train tracks, pretty consistent 40 minute drive. Currently has construction which makes it about 90 minutes. Had to go that way yesterday because of a stopped train. Left home at 550, shift starts at 7p. I clocked in at 722.

Mowed the lawn, went to beer store and filled the cooler, filled chicken's food and water. Gotta run to the campfire wood lady in the morning. Hopefully she's got some stacks ready to go. She's old, and quite unhealthy looking. Lives in a house I wouldn't trust to keep farm animals safe from the elements. But will sell you a truck bed full of split aged oak for $50.

make sure you leave enough time to remove the engine to change damaged spinners and Brody knobs in a rest area.

Great for both of you. Make it happen.

My drive is just under 4 miles. Five stop lights. Usually 7-8 minutes. If I miss all the lights; 10 minutes.

Nice problem, I guess.

I always hated commuting so I always lived within a few miles of work. So, I made sure that my normal daily/weekend, non-work activities wouldn't take me past work so I didn't start thinking about it on the weekends. Guys like Macs end up spending an entire work day per week in their cars simply while commuting. Alas, it's an urban sprawl kind of thing...
