Meanwhile we're being told by some on these boards that the silence is deafening. We're being told that Trump committed treason even though they've cited no examples. They're just parroting the opinion of politicians and journalists. And we've been begged the question "where is the outrage?".

Seems patience is not a strong point for those who dislike-everything-Donald-Trump-but-don't-necessarily-have-a-previously-mentioned-mental-disorder.

Not quite the same ring to it.

No.
I've never been comfortable appeasing the easily offended.

I mean, here we are talking about our President.
We've got some here yelling about treason.
We've got others claiming it's the end of America as we know it.

And yet they find time to tell me not to use terms like "liberals" or "the left". Because it upsets their sensibility.

So okay, I've long suspected that Trump was indebted to Putin.
But I never wanted it to be true!? This is my country damn it.

Why would I want my leader to be blackmailed or be, in cahoots with freaking Russia?
Why would I be giddy about seeing my country implode this way? Damn foolishness.

I don't have to like Trump to love my country.

This isn't about love of country. I don't doubt that you love America.
It's about wanting Trump to fail or get caught.
Face it. You KNOW we'll survive.

try to ignore the one or two here saying bad words like treason, as if here matters.

I'm trying to talk about our President. He's in need of some help. I hope he starts listening to the rational folks that have yet to distance themslves from him. They want to get through this in the best way possible for all of us. But they will bail if he continues to try to fix this himself. It isn't making him look more competent.

Our country needs this fixed.

stop focusing on people who are allowed to dislike him. He's in deep trouble. This does not make me happy and you still toss people like me in a big basket of joyous haters. It's really a small basket, I'm not in it, but you're obsessing about it. That basket is not the issue now.

35 indictments. Trump was complicent. Our president just told the world that he trusted Putin and said he was very very strong in his denial.

I trust out intel agencies more than I do Putin or Trump. And we all should.
I trust the media more than any demagogue, any single man.

Do I want him to be removed from office. Yep. He's inept. Clearly corrupt. And dangerous.

Will we survive? Of course. But the damage he's doing will probably take years to repair.
If it's even repairable.

Frank,
Virtually every news feed used the words "treason" in their headlines.
It's not "one or two" and it's not in "here".

I've stated from day one that Trump comes across as an idiot at times. He needs two do-overs to get his message across. But it's become a self fulfilling prophecy because the networks no longer cover his actions, they just pounce on his many missteps.
Look at the moment when NK was going to denuke. Go back and read the headlines. If it doesn't make you hate the media then you're not paying attention.

Trump doesn't need help.
But know this: when I describe the basket of lib-ploribles I am not including you.

I do worry about Joe. I liked arguing with him because even when we disagreed he made logical coherent arguments. Sometimes he changed my mind, sometimes he made me tweak my opinion and sometimes I thought he was all wet. He usually made me think though.

As of late it’s as if he’s not even trying to be logical or thoughtful. There’s a lot of you think what you think because the press tells you too, people that think that way are all blah blah blah, anyone that thinks differently than me is this or that (including syndromes etc). There’s been an absence of facts and any deep thought lately. It’s been more of a pattern of defining how others think differently then arguing with that rather than what they really think. It’s like lowering a basketball hoop to 6 foot then pretending you can slam dunk. Very little listening and thought. It’s been his style at times but lately he’s all in. Maybe I don’t recognize his transition from serious conversation to trolling for reaction or fun. Maybe the lib echo chamber in mass is driving him crazy. I dunno.

Tail I like arguing with you but come on man. Get rid of the lazy canned rhetoric whether it’s politics or sports or broads (channeling wheel). You are smart and fun to argue with. I respect you. The cookie cutter junk is disappointing. And trust me if I’m an expert at anything it’s disappointing junk.

Joe, I don't think the moderate liberals want Trump to be guilty of anything. Those on the extreme left do. I consider them to be in the same basket as the alt right. For the good of our country I hope he is not impeached. But I do want to know the truth. If, and I want to emphasize IF, he is guilty of something impeachment would be appropriate, and he should be held criminally accountable. But if he is not, again I want to emphasize IF, I want all Americans to support our president. I don't want him as our president. I want someone else to become our next president in 2020. But I want that to happen the right way, for someone else to be elected president.

Anybody else see this guy Clarke making the rounds? Some scary chit.

Richard Clarke, former White House counterterrorism coordinator, said President Trump's behavior at Monday's summit was reminiscent of someone who was acting like a "controlled asset" for Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In an interview with CNN's Christiane Amanpour, Clarke said Trump is acting in a way that he thinks Putin wants him to behave.

"I have been very reluctant to come to the conclusion that he's a controlled asset, but that's the term we use in the intelligence community when we have someone in another government who, for whatever reason, does what we want them to do because we're bribing them, because we have something on them. He is acting like a controlled asset," Clarke said.
143. Author: delta1Date: Wed, 7/18/2018, 3:46PM EST
Isn't the term "controlled azz"?

Trump appears to be under a spell of sorts, kinda scatter-brained, stepping on himself, correcting himself in a way that makes no sense, saying one thing, then contradicting himself within 24 hours...

when it's all added together, Trump's words and actions result in a net gain for Putin's aims and desires...

wonder if the Russian interpreter was a hypnotist, or if Putin has a background in it?
144. Author: DrafterXDate: Wed, 7/18/2018, 4:00PM EST
I dunno..

Almost 700 Russian people and companies are under U.S. sanctions. Individuals face limits on their travel and freezes on at least some of their assets, while some top Russian state banks and companies, including oil and gas giants, are effectively barred from getting financing through U.S. banks and markets. They include billionaires such as Oleg Deripaska and Viktor Vekselberg; close political allies of Putin including his former chief of staff, Sergei Ivanov, and Dmitry Rogozin, a deputy prime minister from 2011 to 2018; and corporate titans such as Rosneft PJSC, Gazprom PJSC, Sberbank PJSC and VTB Group.

You'd think if he had been hypnotized the sanctions would be lifted... Think
145. Author: HuckFinnDate: Wed, 7/18/2018, 4:09PM EST
Trump has tried to block or overturn all Russian sanctions .
The only reason they're in place is because of congress.

Trump is Russia's puppet. And he's starting to come apart at the seams.

soooooo, stand back!!
146. Author: delta1Date: Wed, 7/18/2018, 4:11PM EST
those in place are mostly the old ones from the Ukraine and Crimea forays Russia did when Obama was in charge.

Congress ordered new sanctions on the Russians when intel proved they meddled and interfered in our 2016 Presidential elections. In response, Congress passed legislation by more than 95% in both Houses ordering Trump to impose new, more severe, sanctions, and he has failed to do it. The GOP controlled Congress lacks the will and/or courage to hold Trump's feet to the fire on this obvious contempt of Congress...

| WASHINGTON

Citing “malicious” cyberattacks by Russian government agents, the Trump administration on Monday imposed economic sanctions on several Russian companies and persons accused of supporting Moscow’s spy networks.

Although Trump has spoken frequently of making Russia a closer ally, his administration has nevertheless imposed numerous sanctions packages for human rights violations, meddling in the 2016 U.S. election and other acts. By a nearly unanimous vote, Congress ordered some of the sanctions, which Trump then enacted only reluctantly.

In Monday’s action, the Treasury Department said it was blacklisting five Russian companies and three Russian citizens, most of whom have supplied material to or worked with Moscow’s Federal Security Service, known as the FSB, the main successor agency to the Soviet Union’s KGB.

All worked on development of “offensive” cyber and underwater capabilities, posing a danger to the security of the United States and its allies, Treasury Secretary Steven T. Mnuchin said.

“The United States is committed to aggressively targeting any entity or individual working at the direction of the FSB whose work threatens the United States,” Mnuchin said.

Mnuchin said Russia’s “malign” activities included cyber intrusion into the U.S. energy grid and other infrastructure; an internet-chewing worm called Notpetya that cost several global conglomerates millions of dollars in damage; and the tracking of and possible interference with undersea communications cables that carry most of the world’s telecommunications data.

The blacklisting means any property or assets that the targeted people and companies have in U.S. jurisdiction will be frozen, and U.S. citizens may not do business with them.
