Just to say hi.

Hope everyone is well. (not well adjusted - that'd be asking too much)

What's the scoop with everyone?

No need. I'm used to cigar smoke by now. We're doin' alright. New house has had a few challenges, from a tree falling on it right after we moved in to various other "$urpri$e$"....

we took a brief road trip earlier this year to see how he'd do traveling. He did ok. He did have some pain a week or so after we were back so we'll have to watch it. I'd love to come back soon. Gotta see how he does on a shorter trip than that.

Hi Deb

I apologize for my lack of manners on another thread.
I'm just projecting for Vic. His fault entirely...

Hi Queen! Macs, I may not see you often, but I think of you very often. Love seeing your daily catch.

alas, my last job had me too tired to bake. New job is easier, and has me cookin' again. Won't be long til the baking starts I think.

Thanks. It's been crazy (most of a decade). After I figured out the antibiotic in meat thing, I discovered I'm allergic to a migraine medication. I thought I might have diabetes, but it turned out to be fallout from years of poison from those other things (and a few others). The last few days have been really rough. Hopefully it's just my body trying to detoxify.

Hoping some day I might recover enough to actually return to work. Still a long, long ways off, but at least I'm making progress. There just isn't any literature on this stuff, and dozens of medical professionals all missed it, too. Tough when you're your own doctor, but I'll keep trying until I get it sorted out. Or I die, whichever comes first.

Fun to see some of you new whippersnappers posting. Now if you'll excuse me, someone is on my lawn and needs to be yelled at.

Sorry...I've been on the health merry-go-round in the seventh circle of Hell. However, I'm improving a bit. Figured out a couple things, but it may take a long time for my body to recover. Not easy being cheerful and pleasant amidst all of that, too. Was just trying to get my head above water last year when Mrs. Pacman turned out to have breast cancer. Fortunately, even though it was very aggressive, she had a team of aces working for her. Initial diagnosis Stage 2/3, downgraded to 1 after the lumpectomy. Surgery, a few days of radiation, and a few years of hormone blockers, no chemo. Just got her 1 year clean bill of health last Friday. Obviously it's much worse to have it, but I doubt there is a more helpless feeling in the world for a man than to watch his wife hurting and not be able to do a damned thing except be the best husband he can be.

Not sure if I'll ever be healthy enough to go back to work (wow, do I ever miss it), but keeping my license to practice active. Trying to slowly ease back into society as I figure out some of my own stuff. Always enjoyed chatting with you and Tank, BTW. Hope life is treating you with kid gloves these days.

Substitute husband for wife, and the hes and shes and I am right there with you. We're at 3-1/2 years cancer free now. I HATED having to take him in for treatment. It tore me up.

I'm glad to hear she is doing well. Will send up some prayers for both of you to continue to improve.

I totally get it. Should have seen it coming. 2 years prior, her doctor said "at your age, you can probably get by with a mammogram every other year". First year after skipping one, boom. If it'd been a year later, she'd be dead. I'm trying to get the word out to women...I get that the exam is uncomfortable as hell, but even the days waiting for her surgery were hard to bear. We got lucky and also got some very good doctors.

My own stuff is just a collection of things that has dozen of medical professionals left scratching their heads. I've figured out parts of it (the antibiotics in meat was a major oddity to pin down, and I've figured out a few other allergies, likely related to nearly a decade of that meat thing). I still have a long ways to go before I could hope to return to work, but at least I'm making some progress. Appreciate your prayers.

Glad to hear Tank is doing well. Wishing nothing best for you both.
